Player Discussion Jack Quinn, RW (8th overall, 2020): Named AHL Rookie of the Year

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Easily the most disappointing player on the team relative to pre-season expectations. At least he's gotten a lot cheaper. I still like his potential and want to see what he has after a proper off-season.
Yeah. No reason to ship him out. His value has tanked. But, also no reason to cement him in the LU like years past. He's burned the bridge of trust. Now he has to earn it back. That's on his shoulders. If he takes another offseason off and is missing meetings, then his NHL stint will be very short. Some kids just don't have the mentality to be NHLers, and that's ok. He can find a less demanding career if that's the case.

Is it the same reason I missed a bunch of 8AM classes in college?

Bizarrely mixed message- it’s not alarming but inexcusable? I feel like that 2nd one is worse than the 1st. Also, why do players miss your meetings so much, Lindy?

Hope Jack ain’t dealing with any actual issues, but you gotta show up to your job. Maybe don’t play like shit. Basic stuff.

I don’t think it’s a mixed message. Inexcusable means they will not accept an excuse for his actions. That’s why he was scratched. There were no excuses accepted, and a punitive measure was handed out.

It’s not alarming because he’s a young player and these things happen. They aren’t going to healthy scratch him for a month or trade him over it. He’s been on the big club for 3 seasons now and I think this is the first time it’s happened (although he does seem to have maturity issues and didn’t appear to take the offseason very seriously).
