Byfield signs 5 year, $6.25M per extension

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Speaking of Kaliyev...I see he's been scratched like 10 games since NYR acquired him. Only 4 points in 14 games played....what a shocker.
When he does play he looks even worse than he did here. He should go to Europe or KHL to find his game next year and come back when his head is on and hes ready.

Strongly disagree. Byfield needs to feel his coach trusts him and TMac may as well have said he didn’t when he started at C. Even if he isn’t fully trusted a good coach needs to make him feel trusted, that’s where he was mishandled. As soon as he was on the top line (and stuck there) it was a sign of trust and the switch flicked, but as history tells us it was almost certainly Kopitar that made it happen.

With QB it was always about how you handle him mentally. It’s been obvious since junior and I’ve been pointing it out for several years. I’m not the only one, so I don’t claim to be some sort of savant.

Disagree as I have stated he adapts slowly to change , which is better if it sets the curve for a sustained uptick.

Another wasted quality draft pick. Gotta do better. The 2nd round has been pretty horrible for the Kings the past 12-13 years. The one truly bright spot that's turned into a major contributor (cornerstone player in fact) never played one second with the Kings.

Drawing a blank on any cornerstones.

A couple two by fours yeah.

Kind of remember that most people around these parts were stoked on the pick. Who do you think the Kings should have taken if not Kaliyev?

Kind of remember that most people around these parts were stoked on the pick. Only two other players in that round have played more games than AK, and only one of them has more points:
