I thought he was already labelled as injury prone?

Bit we've seen guys overcome this and just have a bad spiel if injuries in their career. Crosby has been pretty good for 10 years, and Stamkos missed a lot of time in a short span and pretty solid now too.

For some it never gets fixed, hopefully Hughes is one that is just unlucky
It's the Eric Lindros/Paul Kariya/Bobby Orr scenarios that are concerning. Hall of Fame players who had limited careers due to injuries. Even Crosby to a certain extent had prime years wrecked because of injuries. That's really disappointing stuff as a fan of the game. All the players I mentioned left a ton of hardware on the table because of injuries, even if they have had great careers.

I’m not sure if it was last year or the year before, but the injury he had was completely avoidable. A hit was coming his way, and instead of bracing like they teach you in peewee, he jumped out of the way and got clipped in the knee.

He’ll need to learn to take contact better. When you’re not a big guy, you can’t be putting yourself in situations like that

Will be interesting to see how he'll handle playoff hockey when the whistles are put away and physicality ramps up.

The kid is tiny... Ofcourse there are injury worries every year. He's an unbelievable talent already but he's not going to do well with physical play until he gets bigger and stronger.

And I'm not being disrespectful to him or NJ fans. It's just the reality of players that are smaller/thinner

10% of NHLers play all 82 games. If this is 3-4 game injury, it’s really not a big deal.

Do we really need a thread every time someone gets slightly injured and might miss a few games?

As for the Tkachuk incident, Don't screw around and pull people down like that, they aren't expecting contact in a non contact game. I doubt it had anything to do with this injury though.

That really sucks, hope he can recover quickly and get back to scoring like crazy.

What do you think his injury is on tho? because ive watched and rewatched the game vs the Canucks post All star game and he did not take any hit that was anywhere near as close as to the fall he had vs Tkachuk.

He has a whole life outside of the few hours we see him in a game. It doesn't have to be from any on ice contact.
We will probably never know, so it's useless to speculate.

Off- ice injuries that causes the player to be week to week often gets reported.

Regardless, its not really important how it happened, its more concering that its happening on that shoulder again.

When you’re on ice, literally anything can cause an injury. If Tkachuk thought he was “joking around” doing that in all star game he’s orders of magnitude dumber than I had thought. And trust me, I already had him pegged as dumber than rocks. Must be a dominant Tkachuk gene.
Next year they should all play with their own protective plastic bubbles so we can ensure they don’t touch each other

I agree, did it come out that it's a shoulder? I've only seen that it's an upper body injury that isn't serious

This sucks. Even as a division rival I was hoping to see the kid have a monster 100+ point season. Hope it’s nothing serious

A guy can just be cheeky and snag a guy in some shinny who doesn't expect it + falls awkwardly. This is a thing that can happen. Is there video evidence of it? I don't know, I'm not a doctor. But it can happen. And it doesn't mean you are a bad parent if you're a Sens fan.
