If I were a sabres fan I'd hate that return. No use for Rakell really.

Dostal and Mactavish are good prospects but not top tier.

I'd remove Rakell and add another first, maybe with conditions based on games played

While this offer is trash, wtf does Buffalo expect?

They have a player who very publicly wants out who has a potentially career ending injury that needs operation, but still can’t even agree on what kind!

It would be a miracle if he was ready for the season, and even more miraculous if he came back at 100%.

Those risks added to the huge contract……
I just don’t see Jack being worth even close to this garbage OP offer.

I think if Eichel can get healthy, there is a lot to consider

as a Ducks fan, we have finally gotten some high draft picks/talent after years of drafting late.

I like Eichel. Don’t like the risk

Ducks need to stay the course, keep drafting well and develop their players. They did very well with drafting Zegras and Drysdale who both have the potential to be toward the Top of their draft classes. Why would they want to move these multiple players and/or assets for one player? Especially for a questionable player who may never be the same again. Too much risk.

Ducks already have one of the deepest prospect pools in the league, and another Top 10 pick can really give them the ammunition to make trades and then sign FAs where needed for support. They will have the assets and cap space to do both. By then, hopefully Eakins is gone, and can bring in a head coach who can start turning the ship into more competitive waters.

I agree with you and gutting our young core for a player with a possibly career ending injury could set us back years. I want no part of Eichel. Even if he does come back at 100%, there are extremely high odds his career would be shortened.

McTavish, Comtois and next year’s 1st unprotected
For Eichel and Ryan Johnson.
I don’t hate it but if eichel is getting surgery, no way a team in Anaheim position can move that unprotected 1st.

unless you meant 2023 1st unprotected

to me zegras drysdale and unprotected 1st(22) can’t be moved…. At the same time I don’t think any team is offering any pieces better than those 3.

He will have his surgery don't matter what one, by next years draft he will either be healthy or in a wheelchair.. If he is healthy the Ducks will be out bid with ease if they stick to your recommendation.

Which is fine by me… better up grabbing a top 5 pick and keeping zegs + drysdale and the other pieces

Injury or no injury, you don't get to cross prospects off the "available" list when the trade target is a 24 year old franchise center with 355 points in 375 games.

If this was on the table, Eichel would already be a Ducks. Lots of fans thinking Eichel is a savior when he couldn’t even lift his own team out of the bottom 10. He’s an elite player, but then again, just ONE player doesn’t make a team and no one is going to gut their own team for that guy or any other guy for that matter.

Some fans are so out of touch when it comes to scenarios like that one

That’s fair, and normally I’d agree with you but under the circumstances it’s very much a ‘buyer beware’ situation.

So much uncertainty regarding his long term health that I’m not surprised teams are reluctant to pay a premium for a player that under normal circumstances would absolutely be worth it. Far more risk with this one than most others.
