Ducks are good, trade him to the Rangers. Ducks aren't trading 3 top 5 picks possibly even higher plus for Eichel.
Yeah getting 2 top 5 picks is enough for eichel. Ridiculous to ask for drysdale also. Buffalo can sit on eichel forever if they wanna be unreasonable.

It isn't a guarantee that the Ducks '22 1st is going to be top 5.

Again, IMO the Ducks will be much better than last season and if you add Eichel I think they can contend in that weak ass divsion.

Meh, eichel couldnt get buffalo in the playoffs why would he be able to lead the ducks to it? Even in a bad div.

It's not only the Eichel addition.

I really like what Anaheim has going for them upfront. I also really like Gibson.
  • Love Steel, Comtois, Zegras and I think all of them can have a big impact next season.
  • Lindholm, Fowler, Manson, and Shattenkirk is not a bad top 4
  • Add Gibson.
I think Anaheim with this veteran group, the G, Eichel, and the young guns stepping up - they are just as good as the Kings, Canucks, Kraken, and the Flames.

Detroit, Arizona, Buffalo, and San Jose will be awful this season.

Its a decent top 4 on D nothing spectacular tho, very good goalie sure but all depends how big of a impact the forwards have, we will wait and see. I just dont see it as big as you might hope for this year but who knows.

Obviously, from my avatar, I have no dog in this fight.
I thought Comtois took a huge step last season.
I really like Steel and I think he can break out in a big way.
Zegras looked pretty good in his short stint.
Now add Jones, Lundestrom, and Terry to that vet group
I like that F group and their potential.

A top 9 of:
  • Comtois - Eichel - Rackell
  • Zegras - Getzlaf - Silfverberg
  • Lundestrom - Steel - Terry
That is pretty good group.

OR they could line up -
  • Zegras - Eichel - Rackell
  • Comtois - Steel - Terry
  • Lundestrom - Getzlaf - Silfverberg
If all goes to shit, then trade Rackell for a first at the deadline.
And draft the best D-man available.
Hell trade Lindholm for a first as well at the deadline.

Let’s be honest no one is offering anything close to zegras

Sabre fans are delusional
Not a sabers fan look at my pic lol. I’m a Leafs fan and on a good team Eichel would be as good as Matthews, he’s definitely worth more than Zegras

Ducks are good, trade him to the Rangers. Ducks aren't trading 3 top 5 picks possibly even higher plus for Eichel.

only way he winds up on rangers is if a 3rd team is involved. Getting Eichel would mean Zibby would have to be traded because we don’t have 20 mill in cap to sign them both long term. Plus Eichel looks like he’s going to miss a significant portion of this season by not having surgery yet. That makes it even more unlikely since the rangers should be playoff bound this season, why go without a 1C for 30 games potentially?
Drury is content to wait. Losing a healthy Zibby for an injured Eichel does nothing for the rangers this season.
Eichel’s value will only get worse the longer he goes without surgery. It’s a year less on his contract and it’s closer to his NMC kicking in. If drury wanted Eichel that bad, the trade would have taken place at the draft.
I’m sure if he’s still a Sabre by the end of the season, and he finally gets his neck fixed at some point, the rangers may re-open trade negotiations before signing Zibby to a massive extension. But as it sits now the rangers would be worse after trading for Eichel and losing Zibby this year.
Eichel is def younger and a bit better then Zibby, but the talent gap isn’t so extreme that the rangers risk losing young assets plus Zibby for Eichel at this point in time. The window has closed for now.

on a side note, from an outside perspective, it looks as if Eichel’s camp and buffalo are both content to throw this season down the drain and wait for him to get healthy. It’s looking more and more likely that he’ll be moved at next years draft before the nMC kicks in. Buffalo should have at least let him get the surgery he wanted. At least now they would have a healthy asset that can make an immediate impact. Any team that is in the playoffs or on the cusp isn’t going to want to pay a lot to get him and want to wait months for him to heal/rehab. It defeats the entire point. I don’t see any logical way the Sabres get a decent deal from a team until next offseason now. Hopefully by that time Eichel is healed and ready to play. If that occurs the Sabres will get a better deal and more teams will be interested.
As it sits now, there’s not a lot of teams beating down buffalos door to add an injured player with a 10 mill cap hit with camp right around the corner. Certainly not teams looking to win and complete for playoffs/cup this upcoming season.
Like it or not that’s just the cold hard facts of the situation.

Shoulda got one game in
How is the offer weak ?

let’s dissect the offer :
Mason McTavish - recent 3OA pick. Many believe to have #1C upside.

2022 1st top 3 protected : deep draft and ducks likely pick high, if too high , Sabres get a chance at Michkov/ Bedard & Ducks get Wright / Savoie : Lambert

Rickard Rakell - 3.8 mil cap hit for 1 more year . Can trade for a 1st + prospect @ deadline

jackson Lacombe - looking like a potential top 4 dman and a high 2nd round pick. Goes to the same school as recent 1st round Sabre Ryan Johnson

Brayden Tracey - former 1st round pick who projects as a top 9 goal scorer

Lukas Dostal - looking like a future 1G

can’t see Buffalo receiving more

The Sabres getting a chance at Bedard and Michkov while the Ducks get a guaranteed Wright, Lambert or Savoie isn’t the motivation for Buffalo to do the trade that you think it is.

I mean, if the Sabres can end up with having Wright, Bedard and Michkov on their team, that’s a huge bonus, but it’s not guaranteed.

Regardless, McTavish will be a good player, but I don’t see him as a 1C in the future. I see him as a 2C or a 1RW.

I have never read or heard anyone say that, 2C sure.
