I don't know how any proposal for Eichel could not include one of Zegras/Mactavish, a good roster player and an unprotected 1st. This is one of the best young centers in the NHL that is a proven PPG player. I think any team trading for him should wait until after his surgery but at least 1 top prospect needs to be included.

Any team trading for home needs to make sure what they are getting. Right now it’s 50/50 that he will be in the league in 4 years. And 70/30 that his best hockey is in the rear view.

Are there numbers on players with this injury in the NHL (and if so why can’t I find any information on their careers). After listening to the dr’s that have been interviewed, and reading up on this the guy is a land mine. Best case scenario for Buffalo is that they and he find a shared path and he re-finds his love for the game and his health, then is moved in a couple years.

I can't find any numbers on other players who've had this injury but based on absolutely nothing I've come up with: "50/50 that he'll be in the league in 4 years and 70/30 his best hockey is in the rearview.". :shakehead
Best to just say his health and future is uncertain. When you start making proclamations like this you come off looking like an absolute fool.

I will believe in Santa Claus before I will believe Eklund’s news.

I clicked.

Don't see how LA makes sense cap wise anymore but still kinda fun to speculate who he is talking about. I think the player who played games last year is JAD. Still makes no sense giving cap.

closest injury I can think of was Roberts with the Flames.

Zegras would definitely be part of the package for Eichal if the deal was ever made. Fans can say otherwise, but reality for this trade to happen, is that the starting conversation would be Zegras.

Curious, if Zegras would definitely be part of a package with the Ducks, then who are you suggesting is available from other teams that are of Zegras' caliber?

Ducks are good, trade him to the Rangers. Ducks aren't trading 3 top 5 picks possibly even higher plus for Eichel.

Nah you can have him.

He's not worth the price of admission.

It isn't a guarantee that the Ducks '22 1st is going to be top 5.

Again, IMO the Ducks will be much better than last season and if you add Eichel I think they can contend in that weak ass divsion.
You also got to factor in he still hasn't done his surgery, how many games will he miss due to it? And adding Eichel doesn't suddenly turn Anaheim into a contender, even if their division is weak.

At this stage there's no rush for the Ducks to add him as he's not going to be ready anyway. May as well let Buffalo pay him while the price comes down.

At this point with a surgery likely on the horizon, you are getting Eichel for 4 years and paying him for 5. No bueno.
