Jack Edwards needs to be stopped.

Jack Edwards strikes again. This time featuring his heartless soul, no feelings for the players on the opposite team at all. He needs to be stopped. Oh my god.
Won't someone please think of the children!?!

I don't even like Edwards and I think when the chips come down he's the biggest buffoon of a homer in the business. But my god, is this ever dramatic.

What's worse, spamming your way to a huge post count or trolling your way there? Either way, it ain't good...

As a pens fan I'll admit that. Bob Errey is one of the most biased people in hockey. The difference is that he at least tries to hide it from time to time, and he's not actually abrasive.

First of all, NESN is NOT owned by the Bruins. NESN is owned by both Fenway Sports Group and Delaware North. Delaware North owns the Bruins, as well at TD Garden. So they're actually both owned by the same people. So there's that.

Also, commentary (or play-by-play) falls under the category of "sports journalism". So there's that as well.

So the same company owns both. So what, they're still a biased interest. Also, commentary journalism is not reportage journalism. By it's very nature, commentary requires opinion, not fact. So drop this nonsense, he's not an independent journalist.

I exaggerated, but I didn't exaggerate the he needs to be stopped. He needs to be fired, he's such a biased play by play guy.

I respect your opinions because I've noticed you as one of the most levelheaded and non-biased people on these boards since I've joined, but I really thing that the angle he fell at is what slid him into Johnson's path, he may have extended his body to make contact but i don't think the original intent was to take him out.

As much as I'd like to give him(Marchand) the benefit of the doubt...past history isn't on his side...AND...when he rached up with his right hand as he was falling and pulled down the arm of the leafs player....well...Sorry had the play been called right the Bruins would've gotten an interference call thus blowing the play dead when they touched AND negating the power play Edwards was so busy railing about...

I think when he gets heated he basically stoops to the mentality of an angry 5 year old playing fortnite or call of duty.

But his play by play when he's calm is actually very solid. I'm more in favor of him getting reprimanded when he goes off.

It's ok to disagree with stopping the play, but he really comes across as very hearttless in regards to an injury. You don't want to look like a jerk.

Also, if the Leafs have a problem with his commentary they need to muscle up! :D

Murray hunts down Fox and gives him both barrels

Ottawa Senators coach Bryan Murray unloaded on Los Angeles Kings TV analyst Jim Fox a few days ago, shouting profanities and calling him a lousy colour commentator.
Just minutes after the Senators had defeated the Kings 5-1 last Friday, Murray confronted Fox near the dressing rooms at the Corel Centre in Ottawa.

Oh I'm not saying he didnt intentionally drag him down with the arm, I'm saying he didnt mean to hurt his ankle. Definetly intentionally interfered with Johnson and was penalty worthy but I'd argue against intent to injure

So... A PBP announcer for the Bruins, on the Bruins network, acts like a homer and people are upset... why?

If anything, threads like this are what need to be stopped.

It's a good thing these games aren't simulcasted (not for free by the network I imagine) and shown to non-Bruins fans outside the region. :sarcasm:

If they're going to show this outside, then people on the outside have full rights to comment on the quality.

I can't believe the people that don't want their local broadcasters to be a fan of their team. I don't want to listen to someone who isn't. I don't like the local radio guys up here in Vermont because they're all transplants and you can tell they don't care about the local (Boston) teams

Jeez, don't you guys watch sports for fun? Why do you care if the broadcaster of your team isn't impartial

Its not like these local media people are covering something serious like politics or court cases or something that actually requires you to approach with a sense of impartiality. Its a game for Christ's sake. Nuanced with interpretations and opinions

On a national broadcast sure, homerism would be obnoxious. But you only get NESN in New England for a reason

Lighten up

I agree with him. For like.. Once in my life. Unless it's a serious injury you better make your own way to the bench cup cake. They let rookie Boeser do it.
