Jack Edwards being Jack Edwards

The likes of Adams or Cherry belong to the WWE and not to an alleged "real" sport. I get that they're entertaining to their crowd but they do an immense disservice to the credibility of the league and especially the team they cover. And then, there's Tim Peel...

Who is Adams and what do they have to do with this thread?

Oh Jackie.....

I'll never forget the time you compared the Bruins beating the Montreal CANADIENS to the United States beating the British Empire.
That was the single most asinine moment in the history of sports' broadcasting.

(Well, other than the Penguins' guy making that joke comparing a Pens' player falling down to Hobey Baker's crashing to his death in an airplane.)

Jack Edwards has said some bizarre stuff over the years but tonight in a game also seen on NHL Network he said this

"Reminds me of the summer I grew to be bigger than my older sister and I pinned her to the ground and said 'I've been counting'." - Jack Edwards...followed by absolute dead silence from Andy Brickley.

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Dat silence after.

That’s the problem with hiring fans to broadcast. I just like a nice unbiased opinion when I watch the game

This anecdote, and the fact that it's important to him today, explains his entire personality (disorder).

Thanks for letting us into your head, Jack.

Him saying about 11 times during the goalie interference review today that the puck is fair game in the crease was indicative of how big of a Homer he is or how little he actually knows. That’s not exactly how it works jack

Watching the SOTY from today and he doesn't even mention blackwood at all... all he cares about is the call on the goal. What a homer.

Oddly enough, he actually gets excited and shows a pulse when the Bruins give up goals.

Look at how he calls these MTL goals from 2011 G7:

5,000,000 games announced and he can't figure out how to hide his grotesque homerism on a national broadcast nor figure out how to pronounce Kulikov or Subban? I'm almost surprised he didn't refer to Kyle as Poolmary.

Him and the troll sitting next to him also apparently have a poor understanding of the rules and regulations of our beloved sport.

Jesus christ, at least give me Jim Jackson.

If a local commentator, who is employed by the team doesn't show bias they're not doing their job. Their job is to sell the product (the team they're calling the game for), not to call the game down the middle with no bias. If you don't like a commentator, switch to another one, there's a least four for every game (home/away and tv/radio) and likely more beyond that.

Edit to add: Edwards hasn't done a "national" broadcast in over ten years, since he became the play-by-play man for the Bruins in 2007. NHL network/center ice showing the NESN feed does not count.

His job is to be an idiot? Seriously if I was a Bruins fan I'd watch the other team's broadcast.

Also I can't escape him when watching Boston home recaps on youtube. The only solution is to mute sound.

Edwards has always had a man crush for Stamkos too. He can be trashing Tampa players all game but as soon as Stamkos scores he's loving life.
