both goals felt like things he can coach out / work out with team - liked Keefe protecting him, he's not completely wrong to support Jack on those goals either.

just like it's true that a goalie can have a bad game even if none of the goals are complete gifts to the other team, a goalie can still have a fine game even if some are. He wasn't necessarily good, but it would've been very understandable for a goalie to let in 3 goals with the chances he faced but he was just good enough for the team to win. Not every night has to be a shutout

That was a shutout IMO.

The 2 goals scored on him were COMPLETE FLUKES.

How many times do you see a team DIRECTLY score off of goalie giveaways?

These things can easily be worked out. Looking like our future starter. Goodbye Andersen.

Impressive stat for sure, but Vasilevsky really stands out to me on that. Maintaining that save percentage as a starter? Straight up incredible. Tampa is a dynasty to be, but I'd love it if Toronto could stand in their way.

@Stephen , I believe you compared Jack to CuJo. Absolutely spot on. I see a little bit of Belfour too since he's so eager to handle the puck, but his gear and his style are a total throwback. Jack is going to be one of the major keys to Toronot's success moving forward, that much is clear.

Campbell has now played 69 (hot) NHL games.

Before that 202 AHL games, and 91 OHL games.

At what point do you reject this notion that "he only has 69 NHL starts"?

Jesus Carey Price had far more trust/leeway in his early career. Yes he lost the net to Halak, but then it was his net hereafter.

Aside from a couple of errors last night he's been really solid. He has good instincts, reflexes, eye sight, effort, etc.

All he does is win, and he does not look at all like an inexperienced NHL goalie.

Why do these media people spend their time counting NHL games before they can say "Yes. Campbell is good, and can start in net for the Toronto Maple Leafs"?

he hasn't been tested yet and he has been a career backup, you can pump his tires as much as you want but he hasn't been able to steal a #1 yet and he is nearly 30

We keep making him older.

This is his 28yr old season.

Next year will be his 29yr old season.

It's an omen man...

29
Bower made his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the New York Rangers in 1953–54, at the age of 29. The Rangers made him their starting goaltender over Gump Worsley, who had been rookie of the year the previous season. Bower played in all 70 games that season and recorded 29 wins.
