priority right now is to get Freddy back to being a good starter and not to give Campbell the number 1 spot, so expect Freddy to start possibly next game

What we are seeing is a more comfortable Jack Campbell now as a Leaf, playing behind what was always supposed to be an improved defence and overall team defence.

Imo his gaa last season in his first year behind that Leaf team is almost not even relevant right now. Good sv% mind you. I expect what we are seeing to continue. He was drafted 11th overall in the first round. That is high for a goalie. They all develop different times. Freddie has given this team a lot. Years carrying the load with nobody to really back up the team. Let him get healthy and get his game right, he will still play a big role for this team this season but right now you ride Campbell. Dubas killed it on this trade Campbell has everything to be a true #1 no reason he can't.

Wrigley definitely on the bucket list for sure, Fenway after, never got to original Yankee stadium, no rush to get to the new one. Also want to do Oracle in SF Dodgers stadium and Petco
I went to the new Mets stadium when I was in NYC, it was impressive. Skydome is a terrible venue (have gone to a ton of games there). Fenway isn't great in the modern sense, but it's awesome to go once and experience it. Wrigley is on my list for the same reasons. My favorite MLB stadium I've been to is actually Progressive in Cleveland.

I think tonight proved all we really need is one goalie to be hot in the playoffs if the team plays like they have majority of the season.

I'm comfortable going in with Campbell and Andersen, but two things need to happen:

1. Freddy needs to be 100%
2. Keefe needs to have the balls to do what the caps did with Holtby in the 2018 playoffs.
holtby played in the playoffs in 2018, it was in the regular season he lost his starting role. he replaced grubauer in the 3rd period of game 2 of the 1st round vs the jackets then went on to win the cup.

Exactly, we need Keefe to have the balls to start Campbell in some playoff games if Freddy is struggling. Not an easy move that a lot of head coaches make.

Haven't posted here in years! Hope everyone is doing well.

Jack Campbell's positivity is infectious. Nice to see some emotion from Matthews on the bench as well, even if it was rage.

emo Matthews is best Matthews. He plays with more intensity- he even hits and gets into scuffles! That’s the matthews we need for the playoffs.

Campbell’s positivity rubs off on the rest of the team and I even feel it on this board right now!

Let’s be honest. Every Leaf fan at the exact same time thought ‘that’s a goal on Andersen’ when Campbell made that save.

Andersen probably makes that save look easy. Difference in styles and that particular scenario is easier for a more modern goalie.

Where Jack was 10x better tonight was in controlling the point shots and rebounds, staying up high on his crease on tips and fighting through screens to keep visual attachment to the puck.

Happy with the win, the team has been playing pretty well over most of our rough stretch so it's nice to see the boys rewarded

I think Campbell should be the go to guy but he's just back from injury so I wouldn't mind load managing him for the next few weeks

That's how long I'd give Andersen to dig himself out of the hole he's in or he's going to be used like the extremely average backup he's been playing like

We should get Freddy back to being a good goaltender yes, but that is not the priority. Jack Campbell should play until Freddie can prove otherwise. He looks like he wants it more and I can tell from Freddie's push off he is not healthy.

ye, he made a big save at a pivotal moment, thats it really. but it was great to see.

he made a save off a deflection gave us a two pad stack save where there was wide open net. There were some bad giveaways that led to breakaways and Jack bailed us out. So 2-3 goals stolen. Freddie in net, this game is lost 2-4. Anyone else it would have been 2-2 and gone to overtime. I stand by my post. Campbell STOLE those two points in a game where Matthews was not his usual self.

the pressure of being the number 1 goalie is heavy on this team, with its potential, media, fan base ... Campbell is a big risk for dubas

Campbell can handle it. It’s all love from the team and the fans. As long as he gives it his best I can’t put a guy down for playing his heart out - even Freddie, but Freddie isn’t giving it 100% but that could be due to injury or other factors such as lack of confidence
