Many were saying similar things about Hyman. I'd say the same thing about Campbell as I did about Hyman - it's quite possible he takes a small discount to stay here but expecting he'll take a substantial discount just isn't realistic. This is even more true for Campbell because as far as I know, he's not wealthy without hockey like Hyman was and he's also played for a long time without making a lot. Hell he's not even from the area like Hyman was so not sure where all this optimism comes from. Bottom line to me is thinking he would pass up the one opportunity in his career to make bank seems completely unrealistic to me.
If he has a season where he plays say 55-60 games and gets nominated for the Vezina (and he's on track to do just that), what kind offers do you think he'll get in the UFA market?
