None of stats or any game results matter at all period in any respective until hockey starts getting played for keeps after XMAS .. all that matters now is leafs getting as many points possible now before da game changes .. once game tightens up this core will do da same things it has always done
They won plenty last year in a division so weak that 4 teams occupy the top 2 spots in the divisions they are in today

I think you are WAY over reacting to @Mess post ... everything he said is true, if Campbell goes down we are F-ed... his play is making up for A LOT of systematic coaching flaws ... Campbell makes this team look like a top 5 team, any other goalie that we have tried this year makes us look like a bottom 5 team. I love Campbell cause he is an amazing goalie and a nice guy but he is buying Keefe more runway and that pisses me off cause Keefe is one of the top 2 problems with this team.
There’s simply 0 truth to this statement at all. they’re playing very solid responsible hockey. Have you bothered watching a full game since Keefe took over? This narrative died long ago

I picture you head cocked to the right with a confused look on your face ... :)

This reply reminds me of my dogs response when I tell him to stop licking his butt. I give a perfectly logical command but his brain can't process a simple concept.

The Leafs are simply not a structured team, it might be Keefes poor coaching or it might be the nature of the players who like to play a pond hockey game, in either case its the coaches responsibility to make his players play a more structured game.
More absolute nonsense from you, surprise surprise

You have friends who played in the NHL that think Keefe is good at game management? After Keefe said he is not a line matcher? That is game management, right? Do you think a coach who does not line match is good at a game management? He is essentially allowing the other coach to deploy his game plan when and how he pleases by not line matching, is that good game management?

I think he is not a good coach because of two specific and two series defining strategies. The Columbus series he put 3 of his top 4 forwards on one line in a panic move, and it was a panic move, thinking that would generate goals, and he stuck with it even after clearly it was not working. What Keefe did in that one short sighted move was make Torts job easier to shut down 3 of our top 4 players. In the Montreal series he allowed Danault's line to play vs Matthews and Marner every night because he does not line match and we know how Matthews and Marner performed in that series.

When I said no system, I thought I didn't have to explain the obvious. Every team has a system, even Montreal has a system, but is it a good NHL system that allows this team to win a playoff round? Proof is in the results. You can have you own personal opinion but it does not trump the realty of past results.
I think it’s fine because he has his game plan and isn’t going to have the other coaches “matchup” dictate that. Sounds more like a coach who knows what his plan is and sticks to it, but carry on

Campbell, Reimer, Andersen. We must be amazing at developing goalies??
Yep but the big city lights was too much for two of them. They are now thriving anonymously in Carolina and San Jose. Welcome to the spotlight Soup. And I'm sure Soup is singing, shine that ever loving light on me.

Lets break down my statement for truth:

Campbell makes this team look like a top 5 team, any other goalie that we have tried this year makes us look like a bottom 5 team.
  • Campbell .944 SV% , 1.63 GAA
  • Woll .852 sv%, 4.00 GAA
  • Mrazek .877 sv%, 4.20 GAA
  • Hutchinson .857 sv%, 4.57 GAA
In which world do you see a team with a sv% around .860, which is what it is with any goalie besides Campbell not a bottom 5 team? In which world do you see a team with a sv % of .944 not a top 5 team? Your reply to me that there is zero truth is at best lazy at worst intentionally dishonest, right?

Can we get a better sample size filter of over 5 games and how it effects the average? LOL it would eliminate Mrazek, Hutch and Woll leaving Campbell. "Sample Size" is a key concept taught in school.

Legit question, do you even watch? Everything you complain about is wrong, and has little to no basis in reality “gaslighting” lmao this a message board. If you’re going to have ridiculous viewpoints be prepared to have them challenged
And trying to convince people of something that is a lie....textbook gaslighting.

Tampa's back-up is 3+ GAA with an .880, their two cups were complete flukes because of Vasilievski!!! Tampa is a heavily flawed bottom-5 team having their problems hidden by Vasi!!!

Bollocks. Every team in the past 50 years, that gets sub-par goaltending, is turned into a bottom 5 team. Tampa Bay would be bottom feeders Domingue as their #1. Craptacular goaltending let's the air out of any squad and game in game out garbage goaltending digs you a hole you can't climb out of.
Jack is a part of the team and has made the timely saves like we haven't seen in Toronto in a long time. It's not just his numbers, although they are spectacular, it's coming up with the key saves at the right moment.

All I see are numbers with the teams starter vs the third & fourth stringers and an incredibly small sample size that miscasts a solid 1B. You’re talking about less than five games total, less than two for mrazek.

You said zero correct? I was able to prove that your statement was wrong, correct? I was able to support my post with facts, correct? We have nothing more to discuss.

Kindly reread the post. You're twisting this into something that I was not inferring. The statement was we look great with Jack and horrible without him. Do you agree or disagree with that statement?

Jebus... so you're saying Vas had nothing to do with their SC wins and would have won with a goalie with an .880 sv%? Cool.

Disagree. The team has looked good and bad in front of both jack and other goalies this season. The sample size with “other” is also incredibly small and mostly second half of back to backs, so impossible to make any kind of proclamations.
