If every team react that way every time is #1 goalie struggle and just looking to trade him and find a new one.

Price, bobrovsky, maf, lehner, markstrom, jarry, demko, hart, merzlikins, binnington, sorokin, andersen... would be traded at a time or an other when things were worse in the last 2 season.

Maybe the best reaction is just to dont overreacting...

Many of those you mentioned are proven goalies. Jack certainly isn’t.

Let this guy walk, AND trade Marazek and bring in a new tandem.

This isn't a defense issue, there isn't a single goal that went in tonight that I would blame on the defense, not f***ing one.

Goaltending is a HUGE issue and I've said it for weeks.

Put Fluery in net, we don't have this problem.

Put Halak in net we don't have this problem, not like this.

Put John Gibson in net we don't have this problem.

I don't know how you do it but Goaltending MUST be addressed

agreed! You win from the net out!

This isn't a slump anymore, this is now a trend, Jack Campbell has had about 3 good games in the past, nearly 8 weeks, in fact there are some stats that go back to December 1st that would make it 11 or 12 weeks.

I'm sure there are a couple more good games if you go back to December 1st but regardless it is no longer a slump anymore it is now the norm.

Its not since 1st dec hes struggle, its since january 15, between dec 1st and january 11. His save % stay a 0.917%. So dont make it worst than what it is in reality.

He sruggle Since the 1st game against stl and game against NYR where leafs played like shit defensivly and let their keeper down. None of those 2 game was campbell fault. So at the end, he really struggle since january 25 ( his last 9 games he played)

So like i said dont make it worst than what it is in reality, and stop panic for 9 game!!!!

His struggles started at least on January 8 that was the night he blew a 4-1 lead to Colorado that's where it truly begins.

About 7 weeks later and he's been mostly garbage ever sense.

It's not a slump, not anymore now It's the norm.

We should likely be discussing who our goalie coach is. Campbell is capable, we gave seen that, but his discipline in the crease is awful. He is not ready for shots, he js up and down wrong, his side to side looks terrible...he needs coaching.

A 1st + Mrazek for Varlamov. I might even switch the 1st to Joey Anderson if it gets it done but I would hate to give up Joey.

Varlamov and Campbell has potential to be an elite tandem.

So no its not a bad game and if you thinking im wrong, i suggest to watch again this game.

1st goal mckinnon all alone one timer in the slot
2nd Makar perfect screen shot
3rd landeskog all alone in front of the net
4th goal 3 leafs behind the net, no body protecting the slot and compher all alone.

Maybe toews goal on overtime, but at the end toronro dont lost his lead because of campbell, they lost because they stop playing and colorado played the entire 3rd period on leafs territory.

We can blame campbell at time but you need to blame it for the right thing and not because his team took the decision than the game was over at 4-1 and everybody except him stop working. Almost 50 shot allowed in that game...

You think Anderson is worth more than our 1st ?

we’d be lucky to get a mid rd pick for him

This sucks for Dubas at this point. Campbell and Mrazek don't inspire faith in being reliable for a Cup run.

He was looking at D and F depth but now has a concerning goaltending issue on his hands

Another first round exit and he knows he's gone. Hopefully he doesn't mortgage the future in getting MAF while trying to save his own hide.

Have seen it before with Forsberg for Erat.

Who could have predicted the Soup and Mrazek 18 wheeler would go off the cliff in February ?? Time to make a move or hope and pray at least one finds his mojo come playoff time.

I don't think there will be a magic fix aka going out and acquiring a new goaltender. Soup and/or Mrazek will need to figure it out on their own for this team. The good: They can't be as bad as this recent stretch. That should progress back to the mean. The question is will the mean be good enough?

Not in Dubas and Shanny's world. They tried to cheat the hockey Gods by going with cheap goaltending for cap reasons and now now paying in spades. Should have used the money wasted on 20 and 35 and looked for a true #1.
It was a gamble for sure as both are injury prone and Jack hadn't played a full season.

Kind of hilarious our last starter couldn't stop a beach ball on the PK but was decent at even strength and now we have the same situation but in reverse. I'd give him some time to work out whatever's plaguing him.

0.934 and 0.936 save %
1.84 and 1.81 GAA

With that kind of stats, you should win your series so No toronto didnt lost because of goaltending last 2 playoff

I meant this offseason. They should have been able to win the last two playoffs based on save % and GGA. The offence needed to give our goalies some "run support" but could not. They sure as hell gave it to them last night. LOL.

Where are all the people saying “Dubas is stupid for not signing Jack before the season to a long term deal”? Oh I see them, they’re now the people saying “Dubas is stupid for going into the season with questionable goaltending”

Proof at how fickle the minds of Leaf fans are

Are people saying Dubas was stupid or that Dubas tried to go with cheaper goaltending and it is not working out ?? For all we know Soup finds his game by playoff time. No denying it has become concerning lately though.

100% agreed, just find it funny the quick change in everyone’s tone.

Campbell and Mrazek aren’t as good as their highs and aren’t as bad as their lows. They probably settle somewhere in the middle here.

Dubas did what he thought was best given his cap space. It worked for the first 2 1/2 months. Not so much now. So does Dubas deserve to be criticized or should we give him a pass ? Was Mrazek the answer ?

The way I see it, our goaltending is a mess and the puck stop at Dubas. Not losing any sleep over it yet as there is plenty of time to fix things. Ironic that we were in a similar position last year with Soup hurt and Andy being a tire fire.

The goalie coach is Steve Briere. I have my doubts given how Freddie fell off a cliff and now Jack is too.

That said an NHL goalie coach is not meant to be there to teach fundamentals like how to butterfly and crease movement while down. If Jack hasn’t figured those things out by the time he reaches the show, this is basically who he is.
