Confience is everything for a goalie and right now you can easyly see campbell dont have any confidence. He played stay too far in his net, he hesitate on every shot so he start too late his move to stop the puck and at the end he always half of a second late on every play. When a puck deflect, he already late so cant react enough fast.

Maybe its time call up a back up and give few days off to campbell, giving him time to see his family and restart to live and not just survive
Agreed, he seems like he's taking every goal against to heart like the blame is all on him. Granted that was true tonight, as those were brutal goals that should of been routine saves. Dubas and Keefe need to figure this out quickly though, because the Leafs can't keep playing games where they have zero trust in the goalies to make a routine save. They aren't going to win every game 10-7.

If every team react that way every time is #1 goalie struggle and just looking to trade him and find a new one.

Price, bobrovsky, maf, lehner, markstrom, jarry, demko, hart, merzlikins, binnington, sorokin, andersen... would be traded at a time or an other when things were worse in the last 2 season.

Maybe the best reaction is just to dont overreacting...

Wish I was in the room with Campbell's agent discussing his next contract with Kyle. Definitely would have this game's highlight package running in the background while they're coming up with numbers.

I'd wager his nerves about his future are undermining his present. I think he's as good as we've seen him be and when he signs and settles in knowing what his future his, his is the type of temperament that will be able to focus again.

Tough place to be in at the moment. But he's done far, far more good than not as a Maple Leaf.

He's let in 4+ goals 12 times and 3+ in almost 50% of his starts this season.

Holding onto his 20/21 regular season success will be the death of our 21/22 season.

Very level headed thought process. But I will say this. Jack is a great goalie. He's very likeable and has amazing moments..when he's hot he's on fire but when he's bad. It's really bad we've seen it now..he beats himself up. We had that issue with Bernier. Jack has better tools then Bernier but worse psych. I do think he's the perfect 1b but we need a 1a. A veteran goalie to help carry the load and give him that support and confidence.

To be fair the 3+ amount for around 46% of his starts isn't all that bad, because his hot start cushions it a bit, I think Vasi is around 41% for 3+ starts...what's shocking instead is how quickly the 3+ piled up after his hot start.

Over his last 21 games he's let in 3+ 15 times. Trust has hit 0%, it's basically March and he showed zero improvement, only constant regression.

And defs not in the playoffs

Dubas has to get a goalie.

It's sad that he might not be able to.

Campbell/Mrazek will tank the entire team. It doesn't matter who your forwards or defensemen are with this type of goaltending. Even Tampa would have lost the last two years with this ECHL-level goaltending.

It's honestly a joke at this point. Goalie is the biggest concern at this point and it's not even close. I am fine with the D the way it is. (Holl out when Muzzin comes back and run with Rielly, Brodie, Lilj, Sandin, Lyub and Muzzin) but this tire fire in net needs to stop.

3+ is sugar coating it if we're focusing on last 21 games. In last 21 games he's let in 4+ 10 times.

I think you could very well be right about that (lack of a contract extension affecting his game). I'm still of the opinion that Campbell's importance relative to others at the goalie position is closer to that of Rielly's for the D when he was looking for a new contract than Hyman's for the forwards during his respective time. I just can't imagine that Campbell is moving any closer to being re-signed by way of his current play if his stellar performance earlier in the season didn't get things wrapped up in that regard either.

Soup's career high in starts was 31, and those were all spread out through 82 games as a backup. Maybe his body just doesn't know how to handle the increased workload.

If that's the case, his current struggles could be a huge boon. Sign him cheap and hopefully his conditioning improves and he plays more like he did last year/start of this one.

Holes in your technique almost always catch up to you. Guy either doesn’t put the work in or Briere is a questionable goalie coach.

This isn't a slump anymore, this is now a trend, Jack Campbell has had about 3 good games in the past, nearly 8 weeks, in fact there are some stats that go back to December 1st that would make it 11 or 12 weeks.

I'm sure there are a couple more good games if you go back to December 1st but regardless it is no longer a slump anymore it is now the norm.

Let this guy walk, AND trade Marazek and bring in a new tandem.

This isn't a defense issue, there isn't a single goal that went in tonight that I would blame on the defense, not f***ing one.

Goaltending is a HUGE issue and I've said it for weeks.

Put Fluery in net, we don't have this problem.

Put Halak in net we don't have this problem, not like this.

Put John Gibson in net we don't have this problem.

I don't know how you do it but Goaltending MUST be addressed

Of course he will be able to if he chooses to.

Only thing stopping him is him.
