There is a guy who the past few TDL's I've felt like would fit Boston.

Since 2017 ranks among RW's
-Top 25 in Goals
-Top 25 in First Assist
-Top 30 in Points
-Top 30 in iXG
-Top 35 in iSCF
-Top 25 in iHDCF
-Top 15 in Hits

Now I will say this guy does have some mileage on him, but he's only got on more season left on his deal after this. Great locker room guy and has cup experience.

Anyone want to take a guess?

It's Dustin Brown.

Ekholm smells leafs...which would be a good move for them.

Still say bruins need scoring. D far from being a need.
Couldn't agree more. A few thoughts on that.

1) Nashville, don't be fooled into taking Nylander in any deal. Guy is designed for soft, gentle Sunday afternoon drives in the country. In my opinion it would not hurt Toronto one bit to shed him in a deal that nets Ekholm.

2) Ekholm would greatly improve Toronto -- the team that seems to thin you can ice a roster of 20 forwards. They've gotten better with that mindset over past year or so, but they still seem to fill up open roster spots with head scratchers (Galchenyuk??????)

3) Fortunately Toronto is still weak in net - so an Ekholm addition wouldn't make them a favorite.

Still, keep adding forwards Toronto. Your D and Goalie is just fine. Don't tamper with perfection.

Low acquisition cost, but I don't think Brown wants to move.

May or may not. He's got 1 more year after this and talking like a guy who knows its almost over. Would he want to take another run at a cup? Or does he want to finish his career with 1 team?

Still amazed at where he ranks among RW's though. I think a few years ago during his slump people wrote him off, but he's come back from it.

I had a ducks fan in the main board agree to
Rakell for 1st + Beecher + Kase back. What do you guys think? I’m not as hot on Beecher as some here, and I no longer care for 1sts knowing Bergy is fading away slowly into the sunset.

i don’t think I want any of those Dmen besides Martinez and he’s in Vegas top pair...
Bruins D looks solid so far. I’m thinking a veteran pickup for playoff depth. Not sure if John Moore is up to the task. Gustafson would be a good add if Philadelphia falls out of the playoffs/ or they acquire Ekholm.

First thing of importance here is to notice who the writer is.

I'll be shocked and stunned with the rest of the hockey world if Nashville takes a d-man back that requires protection in the expansion draft. They have their 3 in Josi, Ellis and Fabbro. They want a young d-man they don't have to expose, and not one they could potentially lose in a few months.

Which is why Vaakanainen makes sense.

Vaak + Prospect + Pick could be enough to get it done.

I would do bjork/kase + vaak + 2nd at the most. If that's not good enough I roll with mcavoy/carlo/lauzon/zboril/vaak/gryzz/Miller/moore/Clifton aka the 9NHL quality defenceman we currently have on our team.

Get a 2nd line winger
Exactly that is a fair offer IMO. Sometimes players get overvalued as they may be all that is available for a certain position, does not mean you sell the farm for them.

I like Rakell and I know it seems like he's a guy for the last 3-4 years that always comes up. I think I'd rather try and swing a deal around DeBrusk for Rakell though...

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Ritchie - Krejci - Rakell
Frederic - Coyle - Smith
Bjork - Kuraly - Wagner

Exactly and this is why Vaak has more value than some on here think.

I think Richard Rakell forgot how to score three years ago and has two fewer goals this season than Danton Heinen.

That could work and then have a hand shake agreement to re-sign after the expansion draft.

So we give up a 1st and Beecher to dump Kase and expose Rakell to Seattle? If we protect Rakell then they take DeBrusk.

Yeah agree, I am okay adding Rakell, but he is more a 3rd line add now than a top 6, so if we could get him without a top pick or top prospect, maybe something like for Grizz + Wagner fine, otherwise rather use those assets to get someone better.
