I would be hard pressed to say " no" to any of the players below:

CMD
Ike
Kucherov
Draisaitl
Hedman
MacKinnon
Let the debate start!
McDavid and Mackinnon for sure 100%, Eichel, Draisaitl I have to think long time about that one, no to Kucerov and Hedman, would love those guys but Mac is too valuable and younger than Hedman.

That's fine. But normally Ekholm costs DeBrusk, Vaakainainen and a 1st. Your point is that you don't mind tossing an additional second at Seattle to not take Lauzon so add that to the tag and remember we still lose, Grezlyck or Zboril, meanging we no longer have that vaunted depth on D. I am not against this, but it seems to me that it is an extremely expensive year to be a buyer, and I might just prefer to ride this out on D or to target a UFA on a cheaper deal. At forward I think we have much more leeway to make a deal and protect the new player.
That is too much for Ekholm alone, add Forsberg and B's add couple more pieces.

anyone having difficulty coming into this thread since AOF's passing? I've been more effected by his passing than I would have thought, given the nature of being "strangers" on the Internet. Life sucks sometimes.
I thought about him during the outdoor game. It is strange as most of us have never met and we all live in different parts of the world, but we are kind of like a family on here, we at times argue and disagree, but in the end all cheer for the same team.

 I wouldn't do McAvoy for Kane. However, would you do a one for one for Crosby? What players besides McDavid would be worth McAvoy? And I am guessing none of it will happen, but it is an interesting thing to think about.
If I told you “no” for Crosby for McAvoy, I’d be lying.

I’d have to think about it more, but a team with Crosby, Bergeron, Marchand, Pasta and a hot Tuukka? Tough to beat in post season!!!

Ekholm would be a big "get" for the Leafs... If I'm Toronto that's the guy I'm looking for.

That would worry me.

Swapping a good forward for one that’s a little better doesn’t.

TBH, I think goaltending is their biggest issue.

Don't know why Nashville would want Nylander, talented player but absolutely disappears when the games become important.

This trade makes no sense for either team.

Nashville gives up their best young center that they can rebuild around for a guy who has never been able to make it at the center position in Toronto. Nylander is weak on the walls, vanishes completely when you need him to step up, and has his dad talking to him about contract negotiations. Dermott is a middle pairing throw in D piece. Liljegren is Toronto's best and possibly only good D prospect.

I could be way off here, but this makes NO sense for either side to me.

They need cap room. Nylander is a name that is popular right now in trades for the same reason DeBrusk is here. They already spent to get Muzzin and they also signed Brodie.

I mean, I suppose they clear up space with dumping Nylander into Poiles lap, replacing him with Robertson. Then inserting Ekholm.

I just don't know if a Nylander for Ekholm is something that will happen between the GMs.

Forsberg is very much a winger.
