i still cant find any information if we get a allotted sum attached to those comp picks for signing draft picks. im guessing it should be in the second round range of funds?

The exact slot number of the picks won't be known until the exact locations of the picks will be which depends on which teams sign guys and forfeit picks.

As of right now we'll have all our regular picks and 2 extra picks between the 2nd and 3rd round for losing Semien and Ray

With Ray gone it's Rodon or bust for me for starting pitching. Anyone else on the FA market is pretty much a #5 or worse. If it's cheap it's fine but I'm ambivalent. Prefer the trade market once Rodon is gone.

Unless we sign Rodon we have a fair chunk left for 3B, and OF/DH. I'm looking at Conforto or Schwarber at that point I think. Maybe Story or Baez if it makes sense financially but I suspect it won't.

Guess we won’t be trading a catcher to Miami.

Pittsburgh got a solid deal. Zac Thompson. 1 WAR as a starter in 75 innings in his rookie year. 6 more years of control.

Potential 5 tool OF. 21 year old Connor Scott lefty hitting CF.

And a 22 year old double starter with 12.4 Ks per 9. Kyle Nicolas.

Pittsburgh took them to the cleaners.

Would have gladly given them Jansen for that

I wonder if the Jays would consider Freddie Freeman at first and moving Vlad back to third.

Almost certainly not. They just got an MVP season out of Vlad at 1st base. They won't move him back to 3rd where he struggled just to add another bat to the lineup.

I'm very curious to see what Story signs for.

Doubt he'd come here but I'd be very happy with Kershaw but he's likely a career Dodger. Greinke is another I'd be good with on a 1 year deal. No way I'd want Stroman back even for league min but there's Cobb, Bundy, Wood and Kikuchi as solid options. In saying that personally I'd move Kirk+ to Cleveland for Plesac

i thought i lucked out this morning but then i saw the prices and said f*** that. i wont pay double or triple for anything let alone a f***en console lol myswell get a new gaming cpu for that price lol
I cant believe the cost on the new gen playstations and xbox haven't gone down in price, at all. I'll be waiting a few more years to upgrade on my xbox one, the way it's looking. But yeah, you could get a gaming pc at those prices and it'd be a much better investment.

The Kershaw situation seems odd. They didn't qualify him so he'd have an easier time signing elsewhere, but I haven't seen much noise about where he's going. I'd easily take him on a 1 year deal with a huge pricetag.

I had to check to see it myself. Who the hell is paying $1,500 for a console?
The issue here is secondary sellers Walmart lets on their platform, same with Amazon. It's a massive conflict of interest, but anything Walmart or Amazon is selling themselves will be sold at MRSP (coming from someone who has bought a console at MRSP from both store fronts in the last year).

Good luck getting an in-demand graphics card at MSRP either. Chip shortage is being felt everywhere.

That's true, and I forgot about the shortages. I recall watching a 60 minutes segment where dell(I think) was projecting that in the near future, there's going to be global shortages on all sorts of chips. Well, here we are.

The Athletic said Rodon finished the season with should fatigue. I guess that is the main reason why Chicago didnt give him the QO and maybe why we should be caution with him.
2016: left wrist sprain
2017: bicep bursitis
2017: left shoulder inflammation
2017: shoulder surgery
2018: recovering from shoulder surgery
2019: Tommy John surgery

Adding Rodon at a high dollar/1-year could be a decent risk. He's capable of producing Ray-type numbers.

I'm hoping we add Schwarber to balance out the lineup with a dangerous lefty. Then move either Gurriel or Teo for Ramirez to play 3B.

If not Schwarber maybe a rebound contract for Rizzo.

Think there's a trade to be made with the Marlins for pitching if the free agent market thins.

Daniel Hudson to the dodgers. Kirby yates to the braves. Yates oh what a year he had for the jays. Almost as good as mike sirotka

Still trying to figure out how Seager gets 10 years

Because Texas remembered when the Alex Rodriguez experience and then decided "what if we signed two elite shortstops instead of two?"

Curious to see if Correa can come in at a similar number. Similar age and production
