So we’re all in agreement that the Florida pick and Dvorak should do it?
From MTL's POV that's obviously the deal that makes sense, but I'm not sure the Jets like it all that much. So a lot depends on what other teams PLD has on his list of acceptable places to sign long term with.

they'll want a 3rd piece 100%. Probably a young F prospect

The room for negotiation will likely be the prospect that goes with that package

It's one shift man, and it wasn't even that bad. It's been years since that happened too.
It wasn’t that bad haha. It was a damn disgrace.

Every reasons are very good to acquire Pierre-Luc Dubois right now. Habs have already great prospect pool, adding that high pick we have, no reasons I don't see Hughes put a good offer, 1st pick FLA, a prospect and a NHL player.

After this season, Habs need to focus on win. They will make the playoffs? Maybe not... but they need to focus to win games, the rebuild is almost over and with adding a player like Dubois right now... I think people don't know that next year, this team will be much more better than this season. Dubois, Suzuki, Caufield, Dach, Slafkovsky... that's a lot of talent on forward right there.
the rebuild has barely started.

My agenda is to show that you don't need to be biased, one way or the other, to recognize that Dubois is a talented, big-bodied forward entering his prime years with remaining upside on the 25-goal, 60-point floor which he has established to this day.

Culturally biased fans of the Habs are those who are the most vehemently opposed to acquiring Dubois, including francophone Qubecers that exist who are sometimes the quickest to resent a local, francophone product.

It should not be a question based on ethnicity or language when to coms to Dubois, but the ones trying to make it about that are the ones who have such bias.

I'm not - you are.
This is rich considering his ethnicity and language are the only damn reason there is a thread here about him.

All due respect, I think that's a stretch.

From my point of view, it has way more to do with the rare occasion where a young established top 6 C with size that comes out publicly and says he WANTS to be a Hab. I don't think that's ever happened.

These sort of comments will get you a permanent thread on HF 11 times out of ten.

I don’t think it’s happened here either. The thread is here because of who he is.

Does anyone have a direct quote with PLD claiming that he wants to be a Hab and only a hab? Please post the link.

Pat Brisson confirming PLD would like to play in Montreal

Not so sure it needs to be a quote saying he only wants to be Hab but there you go. I don't think it's ever going to be enough of proof of interest but it's not like it's a secret anymore...

*If his name was Rock-Luke Lee Wood would you want him?*

Suzuki has 63pts and then it's Dach at 38. He could be named Adolf Putinov I don't give a shit.

If we trade and resign PLD for more than 8 mil a season our management should be fired. Under 8 mil and we'll see what happens.

If the Habs sign Dubois at 8,000, 001 $ , they should be fired
If they sign him at 7, 999,999 $ We will see what happens (but it could be genius in the long terms)

PLD gets bigger, more physical and more expensive with each passing page of this thread. By the time he becomes available this offseason, he will be at Mark Messier status.
Come on , it's so wrong ..
At LINDROS status, nothing less
