The whole point of a rebuild is to start from scratch to fill your team with young talent in hope of getting those players you need to win a cup. Signing a bunch of players like Dubois to high cap hits is settling for less. If you already have the lay out and you feel adding someone like Dubois may boost it, then fine. But he’s not somebody you build around. If he’s one of your top players, especially centres, chances are you aren’t a very good team.
No team starts from scratch and on top of that the point of a rebuild isn't to build a team 100% through drafting the point of a rebuild is to build a team that can legitimately compete for the cup, it's irrelevant whether you draft, trade, or sign the players.

And nobody is suggesting we build around Dubois, that's the whole point of having Suzuki and Dach to begin with and then adding Dubois so that you have 3 centers who complement each other.

Underwhelming return for a team that doesnt want to rebuild with all their stars wanting out lol

Several Kings fans on the main boards feel it's overpayment. Glad the Habs didn't go that deep. Lots of us have different opinions on Dubois but none of us wanted to be aggressive in trade talks.

Once Brisson/Dubois opened up to 5/6 teams, we lost the leverage we thought we had. On to the next flip or flop idea.

Impossible, you told us he wasn't signing in LA
Oh I'm just saying what all these sheep are saying cool right
Satisfied now? Or you want to keep spewing BS?

Calm down lol I'm just doing like the rest of the specialist followers are doing

I don't believe any of them no one has privy info
They are all guessing just like you and I and the 3000 other social media posters are doing

I still believe he signs long term with Montreal

Jets are the big loser here. Lose a young top 6 C along with the rest of their core, don't get to rebuild, and get an underwhelming return.

That's tough
That's the one I don't get at all. This move would infuriate me as a Jets fan. You knew you weren't getting full value for PLD but this doesn't help them at all. They aren't better, and they aren't really getting futures. Vilardi can't stay healthy and he might end up not signing long term.
