I wasn't watching so I have no opinion. But fact is his team won so he might be good at few things. He helped to win over Toronto with Matthews when he was very young with Columbus.

If I was to guess, Hughes has his hands in a lot of trade chatter and he might be trying to get that NHL piece from another team in another trade so he can then use it in the Dubois trade.

Kind of like the Romanov for 13th and then flipped for Dach trade. Blackhawks were interested in picks, not Romanov. It's the reverse with the Jets, they appear to be looking for NHL players now.

The deal couldn't get done last year and there was nothing that has transpired since to indicate it was going to alter the playing field in the Hab's case. The voices of reason never believed it was a Montreal or bust situation. Everything we've witnessed has been standard operating procedure when a team is desperate to maximize a bad situation. I won't be the least bit surprised if this drags on until the final bell is about to toll.

Totally agree here.And if Hugo was indeed offering whatever to the Jets nobody would have a clue.No leaks coming out anymore from the Habs org.Nobody had a clue about the Dach trade

Makes logical sense. It doesn't have to be a direct Jets/Habs trade. Another team could get in that mix.

So... who's steering to a rebuild that would trade a young NHL player like the Hawks did last year with Dach?
