That's if they even make it into the playoffs.

They're making room for good, or really good dmen who are very questionable defensively.

Pheonix* Copley is a below average goalie.

I'm guessing LA would take this deal now as he won't be available next year, right off next season, or just see what happens and then get back on track next season.

If you want to be a true cup contender, you gotta set your sights higher than Dubois. Might as well save that money for another opportunity.

Any time we think this saga is going to come to an end and the thread might finally die, a new twist comes out prolonging this torture.

Sounds like PLD to LA will get announced tomorrow. I'm very excited to keep this discussion going since he will likely sign a one year deal and who knows what an extension will look like since apparently, LA hasn't even talked to his camp. I'm still confused why LA isn't making this trade for Hellebyuck instead or including him in the deal (maybe they are).

WPG: Dvorak, E. Karlsson (25% retained)

no way he signs for 1 year , L.A probably getting Hellbyuck also.

Feel like both will come with 8 years deals

If it were to be a 1 year deal , then he's 100% coming to Montreal.

Well LA has to sign him to a 1 year because of their contract situation. They might come up with a handshake deal like how KK did with the Canes. Kopitar's 10 million is off the books and PLD will probably get a way better contract offer next year anyways with the cap rising significantly.

They literally just announced that Montreal has circled back. Kings don't even have permission to speak with PLD apparently.

PLD will of course be traded by Wednesday at pick 5 is my guess. The one scenario I could see happening and Hughes tells Chevy this to wait until we see whose picked 4th.

He doesn’t want to draft michkov, and has reinbacher and Leonard at a similar level. Separately Philly has made it known that they want michkov.

Mtl trades 5th to Philly for 7th+22nd
MTL then trades 22nd for an asset from a different team the jets covet. Unclear on who that would be but similar to romy last year.
MTL then trades Asset A, the 31st and smaller parts for Dubois

MTL leaves the draft with Dubois and one of Leonard or Reinbacher.

Edit: Not that I want to help the bruins, tampa or Vegas but there could be something there that fits given there cap situations
