What's taking the Kings and PLD so long? I would've thought this would take a day to iron out the kinks.

The longer this goes, the less likely I think it happens. Maybe PLD having cold feet about signing with the Kings when he's so close to being a Hab if he wants to. Maybe just amping up the drama to make his signing in Montreal that much more dramatic and take away from any detractors that he rejected LA to come to Montreal. Or maybe they're structring his bonus', what do I know!?

It seems the Jets don't want to rely on a draft pick, especially not a likely 2025 pick..

Montembeault
Barron
Dvorak
RHP
Ylonen
Mesar

vs

Dubois
Hellebuyck

Mailloux is expendable if you still have Barron and you keep all your firsts.
Doesn't Mailloux have more physicality than Barron, it would rank him higher than Barron.

Somewhere on earth in a hospital
I think what's happening in Quebec this summer with all the smog is that PLD is trying to Emulate whats going to be when he lives in L.A , the Smog will be 10x thicker.

Also L.A and Jets are 2 stupid teams with 2 bad Gms.

Kings gonna have to give their top 6 forwards depth + picks for a guy making the same amount of points that will cost more While having half a defense who are... not even that good and not even a backup goalie at the moment we speak.

Winnipeg are stupid to ''Stay competitive'' Dubois , Scheifele , Wheeler and Hellbyuck all want gone , they are not gonna be competitive at all without those players.

Which put MTL in the best sport right now , which is do nothing or give barely anything for him.

I think the ones who are really holding outs may be the Jets. Both the Kings and the Habs know they isn't a lot of suitors for PLD so they have little incentive to be generous in their trade offer. The Jets have every incentives to drag this as long as possible in the hope of not getting screwed too much.

I thought Chicago had taken a rebuilding direction. Is it over just because they landed Bedard?
They will get free positive-value assets and have no pressure to compete. Still rebuilding to me.

Poor Taylor Hall, took a discount to play for Boston and now he's getting thrown aside like two day old turkey.

Maybe they just want to bring it a good skilled offensive vet player to play with Bedard and help him I guess. :dunno: Plus they may also get a pick or prospect for back as well for taking Hall and his salary off the B's hands.

Totally agree with you
I'd even argue that Carey Price contract killed any chance he had to win a cup. If he had accepted $8M (which is an insane amount as it is) and the extra $2.5M went towards even better defense (UFA) then he'd have cemented his career and legacy.
I understand the objective is to make "as much as possible" but at what point does life become easier on a winning team for 5 years? there is no difference in lifestyle btw $8M and $10M, it's not like $80K v $100K for us commoners. or even $1M v $3M for the ELC guys.
