Cant wait for this to be over. Media and fan delusion of the so called, i was a hab fan growing up BS

Players dont care, they play to get paid and lifestyle. Where you are from means little for where you want to play, i get the Fans and media in MTL often have another motive to promote it, but it just isnt reality
All we know is that PLD is willing to sign a contract here. If we trade for him or not that isn't on him

Nope I am blaming his agent who is a good friend with Bergevin, so kinda his fault but not ALL his fault.

man that package is mid as hell. Iafallo is slightly better than Dvo and overpaid as well while Vilardi is apparently no longer a bust after an empty calories producing year. I don't buy it. Kidney+Dvo+FLA 1st is a meme but it's literally a better package than that trash.

Looks like PLD is money driven, who would have thought....
That link from a clickbait site is merely rehashing and citing Pagnotta’s tweet from 3 hours ago, that has already been posted in here:

How is the above an “update”?

That's 2 hours old.

He also just tweeted out that the Leafs are looking at Hanifin, which has come from a much more reliable "insider" thar he wants to go to the states.
2 hours old, it is just that... talk...

If Hughes had wanted Dubois? He'd be in Montreal now.

lol "échappe au Canadiens"

Riiiiight..

We'll live without him. All talk, no substance.

No worries, everyone’s trying to get to the final piece of official info that will cause this mammoth Trojan horse of a thread, to topple.

Does anyone have any other broski-type pics of Dubois commiserating with opposing players, to share?

I think Hughes wants to see who is available at #5 before he makes any moves, but he may be forced to move earlier
With Dreger, who isn't the best, but better than Pagnotta saying Hughes has multiple irons in the fire ( I think he used a different term this time) he might try and acquire a young player opposite of what he drafts.

So, draft Smith, acquire a d, or winger.
Draft Michkov, acquire a centre, or d.
Draft Reinbacher, acquire a C, or winger.

It's what he did last year.

As much as PLD would be a fantastic addition, we were never going to be the team to overpay. We are not at the same stage as LAK, which puts them in the driver seat. It doesn’t really help us net move forward “that” much if we traded Dach, + another top 9 roster forward, plus a late first round pick / prospect. The idea of PLD was based on the assumption that he would come here for free next year.

We will see what Hughes has up his sleeve for the draft.

I've said it before but all of my interest in PLD went out the window when he submitted a list of other teams to go to. When it was MTL or bust, hell yeah I wanted to get him. The Jets would have had next to no leverage and we could have gotten him at a reasonable trade price.

Now, not a chance. If the kings are offering Villardi/Iaffolo for him, so be it. Great piece of business by the Jets. But I want 0 part in offering the equivalent of that.
I would ‘blame’ his agent on that front. Pat did his job, which is provide more for his client. In Mtl, he would have gotten less.

Still thinking that teams, especially Nashville are going to keep pounding the drum on deals...........this is where all the action will be.
Also expect Hughes to be in on some deals, and let's not forget the Leafs could deal on of the Big Four Playoff disappointments.
