perfect, best news of the week.
Since when is Pagnotta a real source?
Chevy has a relationship with Bergevin and likely doesn't want to give in to Dubois demands. Old boys club don't like players choosing their destination.LA is a cool place to live as a millionaire, can't blame him.
As for WPG, not sure what they see in Vilardi, guy can't stay healthy. Consolation prize i guess.
Bergevin is not the GM. He probably has little input.Chevy has a relationship with Bergevin and likely doesn't want to give in to Dubois demands. Old boys club don't like players choosing their destination.
Habs always get used................but this time, HuGo is under no pressure to do something stupid ala Bergevin/Sergachev/Drouin................I know PLD is twice the player Drouin was, but good on the boys for holding course.................LA looks like the big destination. It’s wild the difference between the two choices for him. In LA he would fade into relative obscurity. No one in the city would remotely care who he was, but he would have nice weather and a chill job where he could show up and get paid millions and no one really cares if he has a bad game.
MTL on the other hand he would be one of the most famous people in the entire province and would have immense pressure and expectations every single day.
We know the choice that Phil Danault made but everybody is different. The fact that this story has even gotten this big means, to me, either PLD is using us to raise his price, or he truly wants to be here.
Either live in LA which might sink from an earthquake or live in Montreal which looks like Arrakis from Dune now.LA is a cool place to live as a millionaire, can't blame him.

Bergy decides on the bakery and the coffee shops they get their goodies......makes sense after the debacle in Montreal.Still waiting for a legitimate source to back up Pagnotta.

Not every team has the GM at the forefront of every role. Some teams have the assistant gm manage the cap, some have them negotiate tradesz etc. LA have suddenly pivoted onto a player who doesn't fit their needs, from a team that has other assets that do fit their needs better, that Bergevin has been after for 7 years. It is hard to believe he has had no input here.Still waiting for a legitimate source to back up Pagnotta.

Really wanted Dubois but return sounds steepperfect, best news of the week.
He'll eventually be under the same pressure, and do the same kind of dumb moves, if he sits back to watch the parade like most of its predecessors at the beginning of their tenure.Habs always get used................but this time, HuGo is under no pressure to do something stupid ala Bergevin/Sergachev/Drouin................I know PLD is twice the player Drouin was, but good on the boys for holding course.................LA looks like the big destination.
Couldn't get it done last year and it's very doubtful anything changed this year to make Hughes up the ante.We really haven't moved our stance on this , we want him for free/cheap or we don't want him at all not very complicated
There was no worthwhile opportunity if that trade goes through. Offering equal assets to Dubois does not improve the team. He'll eventually be under the same pressure, and do the same kind of dumb moves, if he sits back to watch the parade like most of its predecessors at the beginning of their tenure.
Not seizing this opportunity has chances to hurt later anyhow. Maybe he gets other opportunities, lucky him.
Next year's ufa crop, at this moment is amazing.Good for LA
Good for WPG
VERY GOOD for MTL
Let the rebuild resume.
I don't see a huge difference from what they have now. It would make more sense to target Helle as they'll never get through Edmonton fighting fire with fire.
