The athletic piece shows Dubois but when opened its not showing anything. And instead talks about helle and the kings nothing with dubois
There’s an Eric Stephens article from yesterday that talks about pros & cons of PLD

I personally don't like the implication that Suzuki seems himself and Caufield as underpaid. If I were Hughes, I would correct that narrative before it takes hold.
Talking about "Team Friendly" does not mean they are underpaid. Suzuki got fair value for what he did the previous season. Caufield is the one who could have gone mercenary but obviously wanted long term and wanted to stay in Montreal. The idea is to leave a decent percentage of cap for down the road.
There is absolutely no need to change the narrative. If referring to Dubois supposed demands it just happens that many people don't believe he is worth that AAV long term. As far as signing a player to more than Batman and Robin it will happen when we have the player that merits it. I don't see the issue.

Like anyone else he put's 1+1 together and comes up with 2. It's an opinion but given his years on sports radio in Winnipeg he is better placed than you or me to get a feel for the ask. He states very clearly Chevy has no choice but to get a high return on Dubois. He gave up Laine for him and his tenure will be judged on how this all works out. How about listening to the podcast instead of asking questions out of the blue.
Why would i have to listen to the podcast? Unless Chevy or Hughes is talking to the press about trade details it's all speculation . Anyone who believes otherwise is kidding themselves It's fun discussing these things but in the long run nobody has a clue

So then why the question if you already know the answer?

It would not surprise me if the moving up in the draft rumour was planted by the Habs in order to get Winnipeg to lower their asking price. The only reason we move up is to make sure we get 1 of the 3 Centres. There is no pressing need to draft a centre if we have Dubois Suzuki and Dach signed long term.

I wonder if that is the case... Kent would rather spend assets on Fantilli then do them for PLD
Two different price points though. Some of the assets needed to trade for PLD would have less prominence in a 2OA trade.

It's weird how the narrative is being shifted to LAK as the front runners.

Just listened to the segment on 32 Thoughts and it is basically going to boil down to the Habs & Kings making an offer.

One interesting piece is that the list of 5-6 teams hasn't been leaked.

I really think this is Chevy trying to drive up the price for the Habs and Dubois still wants to come here.

yes, but the young guy comes in cheaper for 3 years. maybe the thought?
Cheaper on a cost control basis but just in terms of the type of assets needed to get the 2OA would be day and night when compared to what it would take to land PLD.
