This story has graduated to hysteria and obsession - It reminds of the Lecavalier to Mtl rumours, albeit at different ages. Even if PLD wants Montreal, jets GM couldn't give a f*** and has a chance to negotiate with several other teams on Dubois' list.
If he's traded to Mtl, and my gut feeling is it, isn't happening, be prepared to give up pieces that will hurt.
if it's to the habs, i don't see how it happens before the draft.
example - if smith is available, it may make it easier for them to let go of Dach.

I think in any trade, we're losing some combo of Beck, Barron (play with his brother), Engstrom, Dach, fla 1st, etc

-hope i'm wrong

It was Murat Ates the Jets writer for The Athletic who “speculated” that was the offer last summer
I remember that was the first source but then Lebrun or Friedman discussed it also

If that combo doesn't include Dach, but includes some combined the other assets, I'm ok with it.

it's going to include a C, and that C isn't going to be Dvorak as its main piece lol

Dach is out of question. Win is offering only one year of a player.
Barron, Harris or Beck that's okay, but no Dach, he stays !

Our available players should be

Dvorak
Anderson
Harris
Armia
Roy
Kidney

Nothing else. None of our other young roster players should be available. Beck is off the table too. They can have our scraps. Or look somewhere else. And PLD isn't getting 9 million from us that's laughable. 7.5 max. We're on a roll right now with our roster building, we have to stay the course. The Winnipeg GM is out of his mind.

No matter PLD, it have to pertinent ...and somehow true. No invention just because it's a PLD thread. We don't need intox news or product of your imagination.
What's the imagination? He has wanted out of two organizations and he's only 24. His engagement level is extremely inconsistent. He was at odds with Torts in Columbus. Maurice (now in the SC Final) couldn't take it anymore in Winnipeg and resigned mid-season because the players tuned him out. Bowness, who's been around forever, had a very unique post-elimination rant about his "better" players not playing with any pride or having any pushback when things aren't going their way. PLD is one of his better players and was a disappearing act in Games 4 and 5 of that series.

There's a big difference between imagination and putting 2 and 2 together. When the going gets tough, PLD's default reflex is to quit.

I don't want to give up a haul of assets to acquire him. I don't want him taking up significant cap space. I don't want him in the Habs dressing room around the kids.

Not to mention his career high is 63 points and he has been extremely inconsistent throughout his career. You don't know what you're going to get on a game to game basis.

Let Dolan's Rangers acquire him.

As much as I like Beck, I’d include him. If you think Dubois can be a top 6 forward for a long time on this team (and I think so), then there can only be a few untouchablrd

Caufield, Suzuki, Slafkovsky, Dach
Guhle, Xhekaj, Engstrom, Hutson
Habs own 1st round picks

I’d be open minded about anything else
Matheson! Look at his contract versus Severson.

Remove Roy of your list plz.
You had a distraction?

I guess Armia has proven to be worth his contract. He went to the cup finals after all!
Actually there are 31 teams screaming loud :"WE WANT ARMIA !!!" lol. of course.

So you wouldn't want to acquire Matthew Tkachuk?
Again, not even close to a comparable.

I personally don't see Dubois getting more than Hintz, Larkin, Horvat who all signed contracts within the last year. If Dubois is dead set on $9M or more, let him try with other teams. Good luck.

8x $8-$8.5M is the right range and Habs have an option on signing bonus structure. Larkin and Horvat didn't get any and Hintz got some but not much. If the Habs offer 50% or more of the contract paid as signing bonus structure, I have confidence we can get him in the $8M - $8.5M range.
Not the right range for a 65 point player at all.

Dubois says he doesn't want to resign in Winnipeg. Tkachuk said he didn't want to re-sign in Calgary.

How is what Dubois is doing to the Jets a disgrace? He's not walking out as a UFA and leaving them with nothing like Gaudreau did. He's asking them to work out a trade so they get a return.

Everybody hates Tortz. He feeds journalits of his savy quotes but players hates him after one year or less. He's an horrible bully when he's on the case of a player. Check how he treatened Antony Duviller. And many others. As for Winnipeg, sorry but all the 4 big names wants out of there, proven fact and they all underperform equally, not just PLD.
Imagine. Let's say you're downtown Toronto Queen street in a café or Crescent street in Mtl. Phone ringing, hey you're transfered to Winnipeg. You're happy?? Really ?? Really ??? Hey don't kidding me heh !

Your quitting narrative have two strong contexts you chose to ignore. Contexts and facts applys for everyone.

It's like if you have an employe. You prefer he informs you he will not come to the job one month in advance than the day before.
