There's a difference between horrible play and just not scoring though. I'll take my chances with this Kreider eventually going on a goal scoring spree.

i agree, just saying. Usually some people here said it was Torts who caused Kreiders failure last year

holy cow

kreider will be fine. he has size, speed, a great shot, he scores a lot of goals to the blocker side, that's why he kept shooting for it. the kid is engaged, playing physically, flaying all over the ice. he had 5 or 6 chances tonight. jeez. the goals will come i think some of you are just being way to hard on the guy. if he doesn 't walk on water he is no good. pen shots, break always, while he gains experience from having these situations he will gain confidence and techniques, moves etc to handle every different situation. you guys forget he is still a puppy. its a learning PROCESS. all i know is if this is the level of play that the guy is going to bring to the rink night in and night out then NYR has one hell of a player going forward. patience is a virtue.

Why are we going back to last year? Kreider was less expereinced and less comfortable than he is now. I dont care if it was Torts fault or not. the imporant thing is that kreider has been consistently good all season. He has been a bit snakebitten but every player goes through stretches like that. im impressed taht he hasnt let that effect his play in other areas and he still racks up points, the goals will come

Ok, i support Kreider and i agree....

i thought he was really good tonight. both of his breakaways he got off good shots. rask was just phenomenal tonight and stole 2 points for boston.

usually the ranger forwards have a hard time hitting the net. this kid gets off two good shots on both break aways and gets flat out robbed

I DVRD the game and I usually don't watch the losses. I will this time, because watching Kreider will be worth it. When things break for this guy...and I'm certain they will, it's gonna be amazing.

He might be their second best forward, but I sure hope he develops a scorer's touch. Hopefully, the game will start appearing slower to him, soon.

One of the most entertaining Rangers to watch since Jagr, not as skilled, but just as exciting.

Last night was his best game so far.

Kreider's size and speed are intimidating teams. It's very hard for a defenseman to keep good gap control if he's coming out of his own end or the neutral zone with speed which he's doing quite often every game--his size and strength just accentuates the problem for a defense. Hagelin doesn't have the size, strength factor but his speed is a problem too and his mobility in transitioning laterally and backwards gives him his skating an extra edge.

That was one of the best games I've seen Kreider play since he was at BC. Yes, he failed to capitalize on chances, but to generate that many opportunities against one of the biggest, stingiest defensive teams in the league was very impressive.

Once he loosens up, he'll start burying chances. It's only a matter of time.

Rask robbed him on the PS and the breaskaway, both were excellent shots that would have hit the twine

His release looked choppy. Usually it's lighting quick, but to me it looked like he had a bit of a hitch in it.

I guess the scouting report on Rask is "low blocker" because Kreider tried that a number of times, and so did several other players.

Yeah noticed that too, but he barely got a piece of both, gotta give credit where credit is due, great saves...Kreids speed and power starting to remind me of Gravy

A couple of times in every game, Kreider comes streaking down the wing on a routine zone entry and gets a couple steps on the defense for a clear shot. You just don't see players consistently beating defensemen like that.

He is playing great and barring injury will be a player in the NHL for a long time . The question is will he be an Erik Cole pernnial 25-30 goal guy or Jason Chimera another big body great skating guy with not much touch .
As for his shot he's really trying to load it up and bend his stick and blow it by goalies . What he should do is be trying to shoot like Jagr and Gaborik used to snap it quick hands high and out in front of them and surprise goalies and hit spots . CK isn't powering it through top NHL goalies . He needs to beat them other ways

All I ever heard the detractors say about Kreider was "great speed and shot, but no hockey sense". Now that he's showing that latter in spades, suddenly his finishing ability is in question. It's always something, I guess.

Nine games without scoring, that is a concern...yes.

Burned a penalty shot too. Too bad it wasn't Zucc, he has ways to beat a goalie few others can...when he's not busy passing, that is ;)

Kreider is 3rd on the team in assists and only 1 behind Stepan and Richards for the lead. This is despite him playing 7 less games than them. Kreider's play this year is the most important thing thats happened to the Rangers imo. He looks like he can be a legit 1st line forward going forward.
