They can of course play better. But I think once they finally win a series they'll turn it up a notch when that weight is lifted.

Also, I'm not really that scared of Boston tbh (especially if this leafs team finally breaks through). I think the Leafs can go toe to toe with them. They have not looked all that impressive against the Panthers. They actually have a worse xgf% than the panthers (i know they been missing Bergeron/Kreji).

Kinda sick of seeing people talk about this Boston team like theyre some kind of Gods. They haven't won shit since Thomas was a god in the playoffs.
They just simply need to bring it, can’t disappear for a game and a half. You are right though, a series win will probably do wonders

I’d drop Lafferty or ZAR and play Bunting on the 4th line. I don’t trust inserting him right back into the top 6.

He’s still a prick though. Such a punchable face
Could not agree more. He just reminds me of that one dude in beer league who just screams and yells to sound tough. But in reality he's soft as baby shit and just annoying as hell.

Like that clip of him screaming at Schenn on Saturday is actually so cringy. As if Schenner even remotely took his bullshit seriously. The funny thing is, Hagel knows Schenn would never go him given the size mismatch, so he just pops off like a chihuahua knowing nothing is going to happen. I'm sure his teammates think he's annoying as f*** TBH.

He's like their Bunting

Leafs play a far more conservative stylen against the Bruins though. Plenty of neautral zone batrles. Ye

Yes, Bruin injuries could be key. Leafs have depth, especially on the backend that not even the Bruins have. .
I think they just resting and / or load managing those two before round 2 considering that they are up 3-1 in their series with Florida. Just watch , both would be back in second round.

This is why you should look at numbers and not just they eye test, it prevents you from having this kind of overreaction to a few good games.

One year, let's see if tuch can repeat what he did this year where he had a much higher shooting % than usual. Are there any other examples of players who turned into ppg players in the NHL who didn't have more impressive numbers than knies?
Did you actually watch any Minnesota games the last two years? I've seen about 30, and weirdly I don't recognize you from the Marlies or Knies threads. You seem like an expert on the NCAA and Knies though, so we should clearly trust your judgment.

I'm not changing the lineup.

The team morale is at a all time high in the Matthews/Marner/Nylander era.

The boys just won two epic games in a row that they most likely lose in previous years.

Bunting did something stupid and potentially cost us.

If we lose game 5 then I would reevaluate the situation.

I don't agree at all with the takes about how poorly we played last night. Tampa was all over us in the first, but I thought our guys put up a spirited defense and then once the second started we were the better team. Unlucky to lose the 2nd period 2-1, but they never floundered for a second. Tampa is a fantastic team with a ton of experience and I have to tip my hat to them for how well they played in the first two periods. They were all over us, forcing turnovers and creating chances, but our guys held on to minimize the damage which gave us a chance to win.

We're not going to dominate every period, sometimes elite teams are going to put us on our heels for a period or a game, but that's part of the sport. You've got to be able to go back on your heels, defend, and then counterattack when the opportunity presents itself. I thought the Leafs were terrific last night. Did well to only be down 2-0 after that first, unlucky to be down 4-1 after the 2nd, and well deserved to tie it and win in OT.

On to game 5, which is where the real tests begin. Closing a series is the first demon to slay. We have three kicks at it, but we're the Leafs and choking is always on the menu. Tampa knows that if they can win game 5, the seed of doubt is planted and that is the kryptonite.

Bring it on.

GO LEAFS GO!

Again, why you should look at numbers and not just eye test. Krieder had almost identical numbers to knies and outside of one anomaly of a season he's been a 30 goal 50 point guy, that's what you should expect from knies. This is typical Toronto overreaction.

Show me examples of players who were just a ppg in college at the age of 20 who turned into star players, outside of tuch who had one good season this year.

Man, the playoff forum is something else. Trolls like the dumb godfather are reaching well beyond normal. I look forward to more of his BS when Tampa is eliminated.

Why’d you have to ruin this thread with Sid Suckseros goober mug?

Exactly. Sid Zero first thing in the morning? No thanks.

Yeah i gotta say he's become pretty unbearable since moving to breakfast television. It's like he just says shit to get a reaction. He was always a goofball before, but he just seems like a weird stephen a smith type now and i don't know why anyone would try to take on that kind of persona.

I didn't even listen to more than 10 seconds of that clip before i turned it off.

With Bunting back:

Jarnkrok - Matthews - Nylander
Knies - Tavares - Marner
Bunting - O'Reilly - Acciari
ZAR - Kampf - Kerfoot

Yep, that's probably what I'd go with too. Easily a better lineup. Lafferty is just not doing it.

He's always been insufferable and he's the reason I stopped watching Tim and sid. The worst part about his shtick is the fact that he actually took a shot at Stephen A Smith for being the way that he is and yet Sid acts the same way.

Roll out the cliche' of 4th win is the hardest, but it's a cliche for a reason, which is also a cliche. TB still will have something to say. We will see if this version of the Leafs is truly different. I sure hope so but anything can happen
Last night was hard on my heart health, but pure joy in the end. Today I'm worried all over again

My confession, was just about to type “why the eff is Kerfoot even on PP2”. What a ride, guy was pure, unmitigated ass and scores a beauty tip to solidify one of the biggest playoff comebacks in god knows how long.

It’s complicated.
LOL "pure unmitigated ass", love that

This is slightly sad to say, but I am also don't even give a f***. This might be the biggest win we've had in the last 25+ years. Maybe even 30. Especially if we can close this series out. If that can happen, we will look back at last night as the very clear and obvious TSN turning point.

I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but I pray that last night was this group's epiphany. The moment they found their killer instinct.
