Incredible turnaround for him
So wait, let me get this straight. We can like a prospect, then they can have a couple of down seasons so we don't like them so much anymore, and then they can come back and we like them again?

So I've looked at the box scores for Bridgeport this season and haven't seen Panik listed.

Did he get hurt or is he not playing for some reason?

i like to see stories like this. don't know what he had to overcome, but kudos to the coaching staff for recognizing potential, and sticking with him.

proves that hockey players are not just 'plug-and-play'. there are so many variables that contribute to a successful performance.

another similar, recent story, is Bennett. sticks out in my mind because i have him in my hockey pool. :D

He has played at least one game.

The problem is that in the AHL, you can only dress 3 players simultaneously who have 260 games of "pro" experience.

The Bridgeport roster currently has like 6-8 such players.

So they're being rotated.

Oh wow you learn something new all the time.

I've been a hockey fan for so long and never knew about that rule, I feel like an idiot.

Thanks for the info!

I'm hoping he can find a way to main roster at some point this season.

Yes, and at any point in their career they start to suck, we can also dislike them again. Welcome to the world of fandom, although I'm surprised to hear you are new here.

….and once they suck a little early on then they are hated by some forever no matter what he does later on because you can’t be wrong.

Yes, or they try to sell hotdogs to fans, but you think they are too expensive, or wear chains in a commercial....or bake well...the list goes on.

Aatu Räty has been (further) loaned to another Finnish Liiga club, Jukurit, where he will presumably get more opportunities to play. No concrete information on the duration of the loan, but Kärpät probably have the right to recall him whenever they want.

Hopefully the coach and GM of Raty's new team have private email addresses....

The coach actually is former Islander Olli Jokinen.

Räty was traided to Toronto's 6th round pick on #2020 draft, Axel Rindell. You could call Rindell still somewhat late bloomer, and his results in the Liiga are pretty solid so far, he was even on roster(did not play a single game tho) this spring on World Champs where Finland landed 2nd. So good price for Räty i would say, i'll guess Kärpät won this trade.

Jukurit is better team for Räty for sure than Kärpät, where Kärpät is best team in Liiga in 2000s, Jukurit is small expansion team without any succes whatsoever.

Good to see Salo with 4 pts now, I checked after 5 games, he had 0. Maybe he is starting to get comfortable.

If Raty gets more opportunity with Jukurit, this is a positive. I look at it from a player development perspective not unlike the AHL in NA. Liiga is a pro league, winning matters, but from a prospects view. You want to see them progress in development, and this means being put in a position to succeed.
