People shitting on Allsvenskan know nothing about the league, its quality, its good for them

With the influx of all of these young players, it should be more competitive than usual. Glad to see Wahlstrom and Holmstrom taking advantage of their situations, being of Swedish descent is a plus for them in this.

Wahlstrom should be a legitimate candidate for a NHL roster spot next season. Holmstrom is still ELC slide eligible so the more seasoning he gets, the better for him. Young kids need to play.

It's OK. Better than the Finnish and Russian alternatives at least.
Not sure about that.

they have some covid problem in Alsvenskan , and in SHL they moving forward some games because of only 50 spectators , KHL has started
Liiga start 1.10 they take a chance with full crowd, the spectators should wear mask. The soccer leagues has have max 50 spectators in Sweden all summer in Finland 500 and if they put out some handalcohol no limitations.

I was comparing it to second-tiers Mestis and VHL.

I was comparing it to second-tiers Mestis and VHL.

And you're totally right.

The Allsvenskan is basically, from top to bottom, the best second-tier pro league in Europe with respect to the level of play and professionality.

If you're an U23 player getting important minutes in this league, then you're in one of the best possible pro development circuits around, as many of these teams have no choice (for financial reasons) than to invest important minutes in talented young players.

That the promotion and relegation system works in Sweden better than just about anywhere else is a huge plus as well. And in recent years, a handful of teams have made it into the SHL while several other tranditional stalwarts have gone down and have NOT been able to get back up.

The level of competition is very high, all things considered.

A tidbit of info from Pronman in his article about Swedish and Finnish U20 camps:

Not to be facetious, but if Holmstrom’ skating is a negative , what the hell are his pluses ?

2019 Future Considerations Draft Guide:

A
speedy forward with a lot of skill and creativity that makes him stand out on the ice. Holmstrom is an excellent skater with good first steps. He has elite acceleration and top speed.

So who is right ?

Future Considerations, as they are actual scouts :). Holmstrom is a good skater, the problem was his pacing it didn't seem like he was busting his ass to get up or down the ice, sometimes a players skating style can make it seem like this is the case.

From the little of Holmstrom that I've seen, the kid moves pretty good out there. My eyes jived with pretty much every scouting report of him when he was drafted. Weird that Pronman keeps harping on his skating being sub par.

Personally I find Pronmon to be pretty biased towards specific styles of play when he evaluates talent. He expects players to find a certain mold in order to be highly valuable compared to evaluating and highlighting each players individual strengths which may help determine their effectiveness and role as part of a team at the NHL level. I don’t know I just feel like with some others at The Athletic they act like their writings are gospel (cough cough Dom).

watched Holmstrom once, and thought he looked decent, but tentative. some players take a bit to climatize.

i think he will be slow to the party, but will be a good one.

I don't really watch our prospects until they get to this area to see them play in person, either Bridgeport or Quinnipiac etc, but from the 3 or 4 games I've seen Simon Holmstrom play, I noticed a tall skinny teenager with good wheels whose game was getting better by the time of the AHL pause. I would have liked to see what he would have done with the last 19 games that got cancelled.

Glad Wally is playing. Wish the Isles brought Bellows instead of the extra stick guy. KB needs practice time and to be around playoff hockey
