Hey you guys, I don't want to get your hopes up but my friend who is the Islanders proctologist just told me the dippin dots guy was full of shit. He told me he got LL in a vulnerable position and Barry Trotz is going to be the new coach. Also, one of the two rumored teams who spoke to Barry was St Louis and unfortunately for them Barry was already under contract so he's filing a tampering complaint and StL will have to give the Islanders Peiterangelo as compensation.

Anyone around the league that scouted the WC the last 4 years will have a completely different perception of him than most Islander fans. and it's mostly because of the way he was used. If teams are rumored as willing to give up 1st rounders for Kevin Hayes and Bjugstat...

I think he should be traded because he's not a bottom six forward and he's not a center.... he's certainly not going to displace anyone from the current top six. He's the easiest one to point toward as a potential trade chip to clear salary and improve other parts of the team.

Trade Nelson and Clutterbuck and possibly Cizikas and I think we can sign Carlson and still pay a goalie and another solid Defensman. Some some vets to play in the bottom 6 like Jay Beagle.

I did a brief mock with just random numbers just to see how much we have for each position.

Tavares for 11.5
Carlson for 9.5
Nelson for 4
Pulock for 3.5
Grubauer for 3
Johnston for 850k

Gives us:

Lee Tavares Bailey
Beauvillier Barzal Eberle
Ladd Nelson Ho-Sang
Johnston Cizikas Clutterbuck

Carlson Pulock
Leddy Boychuk
Pelech Mayfield


That puts the team 500k over the cap and is missing some extra skaters. I don't expect the numbers for Nelson, Pulock, or Grubauer to be correct. Not sure if it's too little for Carlson as well.
