What was it two months ago posters would throw in my face that pld was a 100 pt scorer. He's on pace for 77 now. He's beginning to fade similar to last year. Maybe that style of play isn't sustainable for for an entire year? Not sure.

The style he plays has to be tough on his mind let alone his body, others have said it looks like he burns out in the last third of the season
This is the type of game he will need to find for us to have success down the stretch and in the playoffs. Maybe if Chevy gets a couple forwards to add to the lineup, he can milk his why to the playoffs, but then we need him to go off full on beast mode again.

Problem is, Roslovic's getting a chance of a lifetime in Columbus and he's only got 30 (4-26-30) so unless you got a time machine handy...
His three seasons in Columbus:
Tied for 2nd in team scoring.
6th
3rd.

He’s not just benefiting from being surrounded by talent, he’s obviously generating something himself as well.

Points since the trade:
Dubois 135
Laine 112
Roslovic 109

He’s been no slouch.

I think another guy who plays a heavy game and has a scoring touch on his side would benefit him greatly add finesse on the other side and you got the making of a great line. Now to find that player.

Well, the Jets didn't win tonight, but I stayed awake, so there's that! :thumbu: There were more turnovers by Winnipeg tonight than at my local bakery, geez. As some of you said, we can't win if we can't score. What would we do without Hellebuyck? I give the game three yummy bags of popcorn out of five...

The Prediction Contest thread for the game against the Avalanche has been posted for all of your guesses. But before that, why don't you sign up to make a GDT! You'll have lots of fun doing it, and it's 100% Cholesterol free! There are still plenty of games available, including the one on Friday against Colorado...

Jets were the better team … no need to be upset it’s not like the Jets didn’t show up.
The only thing the Islanders know is how to play defense and just wait for the opposing team to make a mistake.
How many shots did the Isles block?
Maybe that was the reason for over passing.
Two mistakes … a drop pass and a puck in skates did the Jets in.
Weird no mention of top 6 Wheeler who had a terrible game he was actually the only player I was upset at. He killed a couple of scoring chances.

Adam Lowry has not scored in 31 games -- not good. ( I believe Dec 11th)

Other bottom 6 guys not scoring : ( how many goals in last 30 games ?)

1) Stenlund -- hasn't scored in 23 games ( 1 empty netter)
2) Melalainen - 19 games without a goal
3) Barron -- 18 games without a goal
4) Appleton -- hasn't scored much at all

If I was Chevy I'd look at replacing 1 thru 4 listed above. I'd keep Lowry for an enforcer.

If you don't score, you can't win, so with 1 goal tonight, you can't expect to win. Although some of our guys are big, I'd rather give up some size, and replace that with talent. We need some talent on that bottom six, and changes made IMO.

We should be playing Axel Fgalby -- at least he scores the odd goal, and hustles really hard. I thought he was supposed to be in the lineup ?

In tonights game not a great effort from our big guns like Scheifele, Connor, and Wheeler. Wheeler pretty much invisible tonight. These guys need to lead and carry the team, and their not right now.

AJF was called up to be the 13th forward, not play.

I'd keep Barron and Appleton, get some players who can contribute offensively and have Lowry at C with 22 and 36 on the 4th.

AJF should be playing, not be a 13th forward. He hustles and can score. I don't know about Appleton and Barron ? Maybe I'd keep Barron ? replace the rest. These guys like Stenlund and Melalainen are big, good skaters, but "cannot score."

Just think of how good the Jets were when we were missing a lot of our starters, when they were hustling really hard, and winning games. That version of the Jets were a better team, and more fun to watch.
