That was the most winnable game of the road trip, and the Jets failed to capitalise on it because they can't generate anything good 5v5 right now. The depth is atrocious, and they aren't generating anything when they're on the ice. Both goals came off of shitty turnovers and unforced errors. The Jets need to be better at managing the puck.

Lowry isn't a 3C anymore. Trade for one to push him down and Stenlund to the wing. Get rid of Appleton or Meanalanen. Kuhlman isn't it, either. Quit putting shitty grinders in the bottom 6. They aren't scoring, and aren't good enough to keep the puck out of the net.
Garret was getting into this on twitter

17-18: incredible 3c
Now.... Not so Much.

All I know, they didn't listen to Maurice or maybe they did and that's the actual problem still, they didn't listen to Dave, they seem to listen to Rick occasionally but not enough.....

It ain't 3 coaches, it's now quite apparent this team has certain leaders who feel they are to talented to play within a system.

Arrogance

I'm not jumping off some cliff here yet but... if this continues probably best to cleanse the core ( 55 26 17 in particular)
To me Connor gets a free pass a lot because he's a nice guy and an exciting skater when he wants to but my god he joins them under the invisibility cloak so often

6 and 8 last 14 games . This could be the real jets

Our bottom 6 is catching up with us imo

9 more days and we could be in a wildcard but chevys going to wait for a bargain like always .

Hopefully we get out of this slump.

6 wins and 8 losses in last 14 games. Nearly 1/5th of the schedule.

Sounds like they have a problem to me. This might be part of it:

Nothing saying you have to make it look easy, but when you have low skill players, they have to work harder. Anyone that Jets have aren't unilaterally better than anyone else's top six. I don't even think they're top five in the league.

TRADE FOR SCORING DEPTH I BEG YOU CHEVY.

The Jets generated enough to win 3 out of 4 games this road trip, lost all 3, and then won the one game where they were outplayed.

No finish at all. Too many extra passes, trying for the pretty goal.

I fear that if we acquire a 3c they'll be a 4th liner Hayes-style. Bowness never seemed to veer off faksa as a 3c and he's basically Dallas version of Lowry. Granted, not sure who the alternatives were in Dallas.

willing to bet you add bottom six scoring not only will it help us win these type of games, it will take a massive load off our top guys trying to carry every night

bla bla bla, victory is not achieved with pure force of will, bla bla bla, sometimes the ace-king beats the pocket pair, bla bla bla, luck happens in sports, bla bla bla.

We have won 5 more games than the first place team. Can I express how much variance goes into one team having 11 more OTLs than the other, especially when a number of Dallas's were like, last 90 seconds shenanigans?

Sure, maybe Bones' Jurassic Park math hurts us now and then, but this team has been steadily winning games all year, PLUS we have room for a big trade or two. You really want to say "alas, if only we were like Calgary, getting goals from Milan Lucic"?

Do you not remember us winning 2 days ago against a very good Rangers team?

You & @CorgisPer60 are probably right, but I’m a fan of Adam’s game when he’s killing penalties, dropping the mitts to defend a teammate & forechecking hard.

Sometimes being a fan not only of a Team, but of some of the unsung contributors makes me illogical.

We're not saying he doesn't have value to the team. He's absolutely an above replacement level player. He'd be one of the best fourth line centers in the league. He's not a third line center anymore. He was taken in the same draft as Mark Scheifele. He's been here a long damn time. Time catches up to all of them eventually. He never had a high ceiling, and his floor is going to be precipitous moving forward.

I've argued this a few times. Chevy needs to get this team to the point where Barron-Lowry-Apples is our 4th line.

Agree. That's a strong 4th and a weak 3rd.

Lowry's had a good run as 3rd-line C, but that role wasn't ordained by Moses and the org can't keep players in certain roles because they love them. They are going to need to be a little ruthless going forward and a little more creative with everything from cap and team-management to roster-building to deployment to tactics if they're going to get over the hump.

But for now, bring in the support talent you need and play that talent in their best possible roles and positions. No one on this team -- unless their jersey reads Helle or JMo -- should be a "lock" for anything.

That game made watching paint dry feel like the World Cup final. Go undercoat!
