The most unlikeable Leafs team of all time.
I agree

We have the leading goal scorer
We a winger that puts 100 points
If they stay with the leafs : will the top 2vsorers of as time.
Do I love this team NO

This team is not even close to being likeable. Just watch Matthews laughing while he is being rag dolled on the ice. What a p***y, he should have pounded that guy.
Then listen to Marners post season presser......what a delusional entitled brat if I ever saw one.
So what’s to like......not either of those 2

Nope.
Too soft, and don't seem to have the heart nor desire to make sacrifices during the playoffs. The Country Club of the Leafs was supposed to end a while ago, but it seems to have stuck around. It starts at the top, when you have weak leaders at the top, the poop rolls down and affects the whole team.

then what is the point of having talent or skill at all?!

You know it's bad when you almost want back those Ron Wilson teams. They stunk but man did they work their ass off, similar to what we see with Ottawa.

Because apparently as long as you work hard, losing is OK if they work their asses off.

I guess apparently the Leafs need to have less skill to be considered 'likeable'

I have no problem with Matthews not throwing punches or breaking a hand on a foolish Hab. However, I will say, Matthews is still among my favorite players, but I sensed a bit of a shift in him since his rookie season. He went from being a young, ambitious, player who backchecked like a demon and showed great emotion to...

... just a couple of years later, hanging out with Justin Bieber, getting tats all over, growing an absurdly foolish-looking mustache and trying hard to push this "goofy" perception. I mean, come on. The hat, child's t-shirt, smiley face slippers, etc.? I think he's trying too hard to be a "character." Call me old school, but I saw this same type of transformation with players like Erik Karlsson, Max Domi, etc. They seemed to start focusing more on "looking outlandish" and portraying an image than they did mastering their craft.

I just hope the money and celebrity isn't getting to our kids, where they think everything is some big joke, like Ricky Williams and Cam Newton did.

I'm probably overthinking it though.

What exactly make a team 'likeable?'

Yea, what’s not to like? We are seeing right now how far this team is from being an actual contender. Sure, if you like shiny regular season numbers then maybe they are very likeable. But there is a difference between playing Detroit on a Wednesday night in middle of January and actually beating good teams in the playoffs in April and May.

Yes I do 100%. Gain some respect.......me a F’n man for once and they won’t be so quick to take advantage of you.
At the very worst just skate away but to laugh was childish. He looked like someone who was embarrassed and tried to hide it by laughing it off

not sure why my response showed up in the body of this post. But see above for my response

I just want him to be a man and care. I want him to stand up for himself and not just laugh like an embarrassed child.
I guess he showed them alright.........but they showed him by bouncing his ass right out of the playoffs

This.

If you're a team loaded with top-end talent and highly paid superstars, winning makes you likeable.

If you're an up-and-coming team of youngsters, or an underdog team, you can still be likeable while struggling to win.

You can have skill and work hard, you know, kinda like the winning teams do or you can be like these 2 and have lots of skill but choke it away

Why do you think its needed for Matthews to retaliate? There is literally nothing to gain...

How is laughing make him an "embarrassed child"?

People aren't aloud to have a personality to you then?

I feel like a tired parent at this point. I'm just disappointed. Like it or not, playoff hockey is different than regular season hockey and when you refuse to adapt it's not very endearing.

Says a lot that out of all the talent on this team, my favorite player is probably Spezza.

Not at all.

The Sundin teams were way more likable even ignoring the winning/losing. Tucker, Domi, Yushkevich, and Cujo were proper heart and soul players. Even Roberts later on.

I never saw the early-90s group but I am assuming they were more likable too.

This team is more talented but comes across like a bunch of money-hungry athletes. The fact some of them float around makes it even more embarrassing.

At least if they were winning it would be easier to digest. In the end, what makes them unlikable is also what makes them lose in round 1 every year.
