Is this leafs team likeable?

What can you say?

I love the Leafs and support our players but when the team is quitting during games of importance like it has been it does leave me frustrated and disappointed

I believe their better than this, I truly do

It's bloody had being a Leafs fan

Really, really not liking anything about this team right about now. Especially management.

Remember that six game losing streak that finally ended the Babcock era in Toronto.

Now, lets compare the effort the last two games in Buffalo and Pittsburgh.

The Leafs were playing harder in that six game losing streak, than these last two games.

Simply awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I exaggerate a little. But still, come the fck on, this isn't a team at all. It's a bunch of individuals wearing the same uniform.

Agree with the poster above, the 11 mil winger is one player I'd like to see elsewhere. He's an egotistical little dck and has been from day one ( on the ice). A kid with a father that acts like he does doesn't have a chance to be anything else.

So yea.

And they will start winning when they change the makeup of the team.
Marner gets another ridiculous bonus on July 1st. After that, his horrendous contract will actually look good to cash strapped teams.... non cap teams don’t care about caphits. Just real dollars
 
Teams likeable when we’re on our game but that’s to infrequent. Also anyone notice Pittsburgh played the trap after we scored 2? Never seen us do that to secure a lead unless we’re up by a single goal.

We’re missing Reilly big time, just sell barrie at the deadline to recoup some value to hopefully get a rhd this offseason. If Reilly comes back for playoffs not sure whether he will either be fine and can take Barrie’s role or he’s not fine and I don’t think we win without him 100%. I think spezza would also agree to a trade a resign for 1 year in the off season. Maybe Clifford the same thing?

I think you are forgetting that Rielly is BRUTAL defensively, and lack of sound defense is the problem. He was having an absolutely atrocious season.

Agreed on overall lack of quality sound defenseman but don’t agree Reilly is bad defensively. He might be average on defending the cycle but he is a phenomal defender in every other aspect.
 
It's hard to like this group when you look around the playoff race and teams are playing such desperate hockey and you have all these young guys with endorsements publicly wondering if and how they need to find the motivation.
 
What's there to like?

Contract demanding holdouts, effortless play with multiple head coaches, regression from players demanding (and getting) top dollar, lack of urgency and what looks like the same end result as all the years past....a 1st round exit if we're so fortunate to get there.

Why is it unhealthy? How much time and money do we waste on this franchise for them to bend their fan base over the kitchen table year by year without failure.

Being a Leafs fan is unhealthy if anything unless you’re able to live in complete blissful ignorance.

No, not really. One of the most talented Leaf teams ever, and it’s tough to latch on to them. Heck, Matthews is trending to becoming the greatest Leaf ever, and I’m lukewarm towards him at best. Also doesn’t help my favourite Leaf (Reilly) is not around at the moment.
 
Young money can't buy commitment to team defence. When Matthews breaks Vaive's record, all i'll have left in me is a Nancy Pelosi golf clap.
 
There's an issue with entitlement with this team. They don't seem to want to earn victories, or play a team game. Sure, goaltending hasn't been great, and injuries have hit us, but the immaturity and lack of leadership is apparent. Vets like Tavares, Muzzin, Spezza, Clifford should perhaps call a players only meeting and figure out what the hell is going on here. There's a clear divide and it needs to be sorted out asap. Missing the playoffs this season is an absolute disaster.

Hindsight is 20/20 but boy are we missing Kadri right now. His compete, aggressiveness and willingness to battle in games is clearly lacking.

Or something. I don't know. I've tried everything and I'm all out of ideas.

Missing the playoffs would honestly be the best thing. They will somehow squeeze in because Florida is terrible. This team is extremely hard to like.

Honestly this team is very fortunate that our division is as garbage as it is. If we were in the Metro we wouldn't be close to competing for a playoff spot.

Or maybe it's unfortunate and our terrible division has made us, the team, and management think we're better than we are.
