Talks about players being people and caring about them and their families. Then talks about "getting rid of pieces", "moving pieces", "finding pieces" ... Um, ok. Which is it?
Talks about going into trades by considering how much value a player has to him and his team. If the trade partner doesn't see it the exact same way ... just walk away. No wonder our trades are so one-sided. Other teams don't care what the role of a certain player is on your team, you idiot.
Everything is bad luck, bad calls, unfortunate. Hoping for things to turn around. It's a hard job.
Thought it was interesting he said the disastrous start was because they were moving the puck too predictably ... I mean that sounds like some revisionist history. I watched those early games and we literally couldn't pass a puck tape-to-tape to save our lives. Passes to open ice and 10 feet ahead or behind someone were the norm. It wasn't predictability that was the issue, it was no one knew what they were doing and the execution was pee-wee league level.
