Any highlights/footage? Kucherov is almost always a sour puss. Dude shows up every Lightning game looking like he ate a bag of scorpions and is 2 hours into a hangover. And then he scores 4 points and doesn’t even smile.

He reminds me of that line in "Miracle" where the US team member jokes "they get shot if they smile" when looking at the Soviet team
you don't need footage cuz you already nailed it lol

It’s not like he did this in every event he participated in, at this point he had already blown it in the previous events and screwed up in this one so he just slowed down to finish it and stop the bleeding.

There was no chance he was going to win the million and no chance he could win this event at that point.

He looked like someone who was forced to do something that he didn't want to do, which is exactly what was happening...

A big complaint about the ASG is that it looks rehearsed, kiddyish, fake. Kucherov goes out there and gives a genuine reaction instead of putting on a facade like a bunch of other players and he's now the most hated man in Canada. Maybe don't force players to show up?

Love or hate Kucherov, he's not going to BS you.

He was doing that shit when he has a chance still. It was like the 2nd or 3rd challenge.

I hear ya, plus they really need some sort of way to save a player when its going bad.
Maybe have PK come out with a mic and have some fun, ie pick a young Fan in a bolts jersey and have them help in some way.
say Kuch carries them right to the lil nets and they hit it in from a cpl feet away, the crowd would love it and it would make that kids year.

The shot of the NHL organizer explaining the bogus passing accuracy drill to him, says it all.

Just because he plays for your team doesn’t mean you have to defend his actions.

Last night I attended a hockey party where they were about 5-6 kids wearing Kucherov jerseys who were excited to see him play and show his skills. A couple of the kids actually took off his jersey and threw it lol

A lot of the parents and kids were quite upset at how he acted in the skills competition and didnt even bother trying, laughed about it and mocked fans.

What do you guys think? Most people at this party were saying even if he didnt want to be there he should have at least sucked it up and gave his fans what they wanted. A few of the kids were extremely upset by his actions and left very disappointed.

Seemed super selfish to me.

Thoughts?

He was just sour because Mitch wasn't there on the ice for him to kick again.

The guy plays like a scumbag and has never answered the bell.

Or...Kuch appeals to those little kids who know this event is number 1 bullshit. He played the heel!

Honestly, this. He just made himself look bad, not the event. If my kid asked why he wasn’t trying I’d just level with ‘em, depending on age- “maybe he didn’t wanna get hurt but wanted to say hi” to “maybe he’s a bit of a shitheel, talented though.” It’s really not a big deal, let him be an ass. Just kinda makes others look better. He’s like the kid who is too cool to try in the activity the teacher actually made fun, for once.

If the ASG was in Tampa again this year, there's no way Kucherov dogs it. I think a big reason why he dogged it was because he's in Toronto and he doesn't like the Leafs.

But honestly Bedard should have taken Kucherovs spot yesterday. I was dissapointed to see that Bedard was in no competitions.

Say what you will about the All-Star game/competitions, these events are meant for the kids, not adults. For Kucherov to act like this is an absolute slap in the face to every young hockey fan, whether in the stands or watching at home.

Never liked his personality, but this confirms his douchebag status:

^Btw, I don't do this often but trying to embed the clip from Twitter and it won't work under the media option. Don't know if a mod can help me out.
What a f***ing loser. Why say yes to the Skills comp if you don't want to do it and won't try anyway.

Kuch is known for slowing the game down, looking like he isn’t even trying, and ending up with four points on the night. Sounds like this was par for the course for him. I don’t see the problem.

Seriously, putting him in a skills competition was an idiotic thing to do. He’s not a flashy player with outstanding physical skills - he excels by having the highest hockey IQ in the league and by reading the play like few in the history of the sport have been able to do. He was never going to be competitive in a competition that favors individual flashiness over team play. So he probably figured there was little point in trying.
