The ASG is a joke so who really cares.

However, he should’ve just skipped it altogether instead of acting like a (presumably) hangover little bitch.

What’s a 1 game suspension or a measly lil’ fine for a guy like him???

f*** all that’s what.

Legendary trolling by Kuch, love it.
Some say "slap in the face to kids and hockey fans", ROFL
Just more of these slaps and maybe the NHL will wise up and do something about the embarrassing and supposedly hilarious event called the ASG

f*** 'em kids.

What I will say though, all the other players tried their best in the skills competition with 1 million dollars on the line. Some other player would've probably liked to have a chance at doing that, instead of pissy Kucherov. But I would've imagined a guy like Sebastian Aho would've liked a shot at the skills comp.

Then again, this is more of a problem with the overall format when you've got to have players from Seattle, Anaheim, Columbus etc, rather than inviting more players from the likes of Colorado and Edmonton.

Okay kid, his team is heavily dependent on him and they're trying to make the playoffs. When a team's best player by far misses a match, it's not really ideal.

His situation is different than Crosby who will enjoy a long summer and not have to worry about the playoffs, so he went full throttle during all-star.

The ASG isn't aimed at you or me; it's a promotional event on behalf of the league. Almost all players show up and act like adults – a small ask for the league that pays their massive salaries.

I agree with you – if Kucherov couldn't get past his sense of entitlement he should've made an excuse and stayed home. By showing up and acting like a witless moron, he's not making a statement about the ASG, the fans, or western capitalism. It simply means he's a witless moron.

Have you guys not seen him play? He moves slowly and looks bored when he’s playing his ass off in the Stanley Cup Finals - that’s just how he is.

Putting Kuch in a skills competition and expecting flash and excitement was the equivalent of putting Larry Bird in a dunk contest* and then complaining that he’s not slamming like MJ while smiling like Magic. It doesn’t play to his strengths, it doesn’t showcase what makes him great, and that just isn’t his personality.

* Just so people don’t get the wrong idea, Bird absolutely could and did dunk. The guy was closer to 6’11” than the 6’9” he was listed as and in his younger, pre-back injury days he was far more athletic than people today give him credit for. But he was never flashy with his dunks like he was with his passes - he was much more utilitarian when it came to that aspect of his game, and he wouldn’t have been very fun to watch in a dunk contest.
Don't know that anyone expected flash. They probably expected effort.

Alternatively Kuch could go flip burgers somewhere or play in the KHL yet it seems he came somewhere that would pay him insane amounts to entertain.

I don't watch the allstar game or the skills competition. But I do watch the games, and Kucherov is a great player, that is one of the players I enjoy watching the most. Most creative player in the NHL with the things he does on the ice.

He did pretty well in the accuracy competition. The talent was oozing off of him there. But I agree that, overall, he wasn't trying compared to most of the other players that were there.

He's known to be a whiny baby on and off the ice so I'm not surprised. dude was pouting all evening.
I'd rather cheer for a whiny baby than someone who encourages kids to "hack the bone!" during football
