I should go buy a lottery ticket, Tippett didn't break up the DRY line.
Way too many head scratchers still.
Archi looked good on McPulju line.
Kulikov-Larsson defies all logic both being shutdown Dmen. Kulikov-Barrie would have made a lot more sense.

My speculation: Tippett was reluctant to reunite DRY because he wanted one offensively competent linemate for McDavid, and he figured that RNH was that guy. But Puljujarvi has played so well that Tippett now feels comfortable making him and McDavid a combo, rotating Kahun/Kassian/Archibald whoever on the LW, so RNH goes back with Draisaitl and Yamamoto.

Not saying I agree, just what I think his reasoning was.

Going to add that the regular season is also about experimentation. You need to try different lines in case of injury or just to see what else works. DRY works. We all knew that. Coach knows that. That doesn't mean that we always run that line together and figure out the other 3 lines with everyone left. Experimenting is good and as we come down the stretch, you get DRY together to get them going and we've already seen what McDavid can do with JP and then one of Archie/Kahun/Kassian on his other wing for the playoffs.

His team won the first game in OT, got outscored 11-1 over the next three games, won Game 5, and then got shutout for the third time in the series to get eliminated. Doesn't seem very close to me, Craig. :sarcasm:

But they were visually better.

MacTavish will never break out of his moral victory play not to lose style of coaching. I couldn't stand him as a coach but he was all the EIG could afford.

I really like him trying Kahun on the McDavid line. I think it could be a good fit as Kahun is good with those give and go plays. Archibald is much better suited on the 3rd line.
Keeping DRY together makes sense, the first game was always going to be rough. Give them more time to get used to each other again.

Pretty happy, and a bit concerned, that Khaira is getting practice reps. I'd like to them to be a little more cautious with him but if he's good to go, so be it.
Jones in for Russell? I'm legit shocked and like it because Jones has played well recently.

Uh.... Where's McLeod?

Edit: I see that @Soli answered.

I like Kahun up there as well. He has good hands, not a bad playmaker, and I have him in my hockey pool

Glad to see Nurse-Barrie back together.

Barrie hasn't played well lately but Bear on the top pairing didn't work well last game at all.
Bear looked very good last game. Unlike Barrie, Nurse doesn't have to babysit him.

Kulikov- Barrie or Kulikov-Bear would have both been fine. Larsson-Kulikov just seems dumb. So dumb that it just might work!!

That 4th line is :help::help::help:
Oh I don’t know. They were pretty much our best line in the Chicago series. I think in the playoffs that line can surprise as both Neal and chiasson will hit. Put them with Khaira, shore or haas and it has potential.

Also might not be the worst thing to play Koskinen more and give Stalock some starts heading into the playoffs. Don’t really want them both going in cold

With 11 games left we should give Smith a little break heading into the playoffs. Give Stalock 3 games and Koskinen/Smith 4 each.

Wait what??? The best possible lineup!?!?

source.gif

Kahun on top line- the best mate for McD? No!

But intressting to see what he can bring.

WHY is Turris in, and Nygård out.
Talk about being hated on.
Tippet! Whats with the Nygård disrespect?

Who do you suggest of the LW that we have available? Holloway would have been it but he’s out

Edit: I don’t mind Nygard but he’s out, again. Hurt the hand that he broke in Sweden
