Exactly. For anyone with experience in concussion protocol your RTP (Return to Play) will be dependant on your initial symptoms and how you do in relation to your baseline SCAT test

So if Price is out for a week that means he had symptoms that would not allow him to exercise for 4 days. Then typically you will ride a bike for a set amount of time on the 5th day (ie 20 minutes) and then if symptoms don’t return, the next day you ride for 30-40 minutes. Reevaluate if any symptoms return the following day. If not you can then skate with no contact. No symptoms next day you do another stress test. Still no return of symptoms then you’re cleared to return.

They take this shit serious.
The whole situation worries me. There would be enormous pressure on a guy like Khaira to tell doctors he felt fine, regardless of how he’s actually feeling. He was already waived and cleared earlier this year. Now the Oilers called up McLoed so he has youngsters breathing down his neck. I’m glad there are baseline tests and things like that now so that fringe guys can’t so easily put themselves at risk for fear of losing their jobs.

Thing is, though, that unless he purposely tanked his SCAT baseline test then you can’t fake being ok. They would have his baseline results and if he’s still concussed he would not be able to pass the test.

I see the concern, though, because I’ve seen it where an athlete is cleared but then are more susceptible to recurring injury which we’ve seen from Khaira this year.

Be smart move to expose Klef, no one is taking a chance on someone they don't know will play next season let alone again

Seattle will be considering 2 things, #1 is who is going to leave a top pairing D man exposed for them to start next year? and #2 is what is the dropoff from Klefbom to whoever the 2nd best player Edmonton has exposed?

The answer to #1 is nobody and the answer to #2 is pretty huge dropoff based on peak potential of players.

The injury is obviously a factor but unless we leave them someone else that they feel can make a substantial contribution they'll take the risk on Klefbom. They're not going to settle for Griffin Reinhart when there's a chance they could have their veteran 1LD for 4 million AAV.

Seattle won't take Klefbom. There is risk that he won't play to his best after this injury, and even if Seattle had access to his medical records, they wouldn't know as well as the Oilers as to what his new maximum playing ability would be.

But we may still protect him just in case, but it might depend on how our Dmen perform in the playoffs.

Not going to lie, I'd prefer to give Turris a shot on the top line, as I think he's a better fit than Kahun as a background, "3rd man high" with McPizza dominating the puck.

Otherwise, I like the forwards.
  • DRY back together.
  • Ennis and Archi work well as puck-hounds with some offence, and Haas is a good fit between them for a checking line.
  • Neal-Shore-Chiasson also gives you a solid grind line. Similar to what they had down the stretch last year, only with Khaira centring that line.

As for the defense: Just put Kulikov with Bear, and use it as an all situations pairing; Plus have Lagesson-Larsson as a physical, cycle-breaking shutdown pairing.

I want turris real high on that first line, all the way up in the press box.

Yeah he doesn't look fully attentive after hitting his head on the glass. He goes to the front of the net and just gets tunnel vision on the puck and doesn't notice the Montreal player behind him, doesn't even look which is weird for him. Then when he goes to get the puck he looks up but doesn't really see Romanov coming or brace for the hit which he normally would and throw the shoulder at the incoming hitter. So he was likely concussed already and then the Romanov hit just exacerbated it.

So I finished watching Justice League. What did I think of it?

Spoilers

It was alright. The Snyder Cut was def better but that isn't saying much. It was still a mess with bad acting, bad dialogue and it took 3 and a half hours to get to the end villain only for him to get decimated with an unfair fight of like, 5 on 1. And then you got Superman jumping in at the last second which was even worse when we all know he can take out their entire army on his own. lol.

Marvel Studios has set the bar too high IMO.

Step 1: Play RNH with McDavid even though they have no chemistry together to lower Nuge’s AAV on his next contract

Step 2: Repeat the process with Yamamoto and Kahun

Step 3: Reunite DRY with 11 games left to give them enough time to get chemistry but not enough for the opposition to game plan against them

Step 4: Profit
Right, no good gambler shows their cards to soon. I choose to believe the coaching group is playing 4d chess. Rope a dope the laffs all season to catch em napping in the post. And we've been hidden from the US teams who might find out the oilers can defense now. shored up the d and damn the torpedoes.
