I was considering adding in the need for a LD as a tie, but I do believe a big minute-munching center with good passing would help this team more than anything. I mentioned earlier during the worst point of the season that someone like Kopitar or Thornton would be perfect. There would be no more offensive struggles. It would make the Avs an All Star team up front.

Now before automatically thinking Stastny was that center....you're wrong. Stastny was always overrated and makes way too much money. He was money on the PP in terms of setting it up, but not much else.

No my friend, it is you who is wrong. Stastny may not have put up huge points every year on this team but he was the guy sent out against the Kopitar's and the Thornton's and the Getzlaf's and the Toews'. Stastny was so much more to this team than a PP specialist, it's unbelievable that you would say that about him. Just because he left us for St. Louis in free agency doesn't change the years he gave to this organization, enduring all the losing and not a peep, making players around him better, taking the tough match-ups. Stastny was great for this team and would be better for this team than Thornton

Him leaving does not play a role. I've never really liked Stastny's game that much. I think Thornton would be a massive upgrade compared to Stastny. Also I never said Stastny was just a pp specialist, I meant that offensively his talents were by far most useful on the pp setting up plays and helping with zone entries. I appreciate his defensive acumen, I just think he's highly overrated and overpaid.

For sure... :( Brodin or Hamilton would be exactly what we need. So disappointing

We should be happy Brodin wasn't available because they likely would have passed on him. At least now we can say we never had a shot at him.

Hey! We haven't talked Radulov in a while. Look who is second in Points/60 on even strength.

Nope. No idea why he was brought up.

The only "rumour" is that the league is in major financial trouble with the ruble collapsing. So, maybe financially there would be a reason sometime for him to come back. I give it a 99% chance of not happening

Alexander Semin is 10th on that list?

Stat is flawed lol

semin was very good point producer for that time period. especially 5on5. only had 2 years during those 7 when he didn't produce like elite player.

radulov played less games than nyquist that period who isn't even close to that good long-term as he is on that list.

I doubt it. At some point he'll come back to the NHL to leave a better legacy. Not sure it happens next summer when his contract expires, but it will happen at some point.
