The Rapids are owned by the same dude who owns Arsenal. That’s actually Arsenal’s alternate kit as well

For those interested in going to more than ones games this year, here a couple of packages (5/10 games).

I personally took the 10 game package with a friend in the 132 last season and we loved it. It sucks that I'll be on the other side of the pond for most of it this year, but hopefully I can catch a few good ones late in September/October.

Those are actually pretty good deals. 29$/game for the 5 game deal and 24.50$/game for the 10 game deal, opener at the big O included. General admission of course

I had a 4 game mini pack the last couple of summers. Really they were 5 games and you had a coupon for a hot dog and a drink. A pair for greens cost me $473 tax in last summer. This year? $549. Without the free hot dog and drink.

Needless to say I'm going to pass on that.

They're going too hard on those price hikes.
I used to invite family and friends. Now, I hesitate to go myself.

I also liked the free food included in the 10 game package. For us it was Pizza & Soft drink.

also if i'm not mistaken, 131 isn't general admission anymore and they put the seats back in at the bottom.

at least that's what I read on the KOP facebook thingy a while ago

Are they so sure that the demand will still be there at those prices? Better hope for a good season

Some companies are just stupid. I should know, I work for one. CEO thinks we can get 33% success rate on cold calls and that automated marketing is a waste of time/money. Doesn't understand market segmentation and wants to use the same sales/marketing tactics everywhere in the world (he also wants to have an horizontal structure and people driving electric car; he is a nutjob).

I am therefore not surprised that a club ran by the stupid brother of the Saputo family would overestimate the market. He probably thinks he can get the corporate clients the Habs get. If he does, he is delusional as those baby boomers do not give a f*** about soccer and there is no added value for them to bring their clients to Saputo Stadium. The sweet spot for IMFC is 18-35 year-olds; ergo people who grew up playing the game and had enough access to the European leagues to WATCH some soccer on TV while growing up. Kids are also a good target because they ALL play soccer (boys AND girls). First and second generation immigrants are also a good target (depending on the origin some are Euro snobs". Go after families, young adults and immigrants.

These people are way more cost sensitive than the corporate clients; ergo raising the prices is stupid af. Saputo doesn't understand his market AT ALL! Hell, I'd go even further and say he doesn't understand business period.

After all, he has the stupid f***er who said that he couldn't invest in the team because the people didn't support them enough. Well, give people a shitty product and there are going to spend their disposable income somewhere else. His competition isn't only sports, it is entertainment in general. People won't bring their family of four to the Stadium if they have to pay 50$ a ticket for "cheap" options. Plenty else to do in the Summer.

EDIT: While I am ranting... they need to understand the long-term game. They need to give tickets to soccer associations more, give them huge discounts, etc. They need to FIDELIZE them so they become the customers of tomorrow. Going for the quick buck now will just cost you more later. They also need to spend their money smarter. Can't waste INT spots on overpriced subs. Gotta make sure we have youth players and draftees ready to be the subs and eventually starters. Resource allocation is TERRIBLE! Garde will likely fix a lot of issues on the pitch, but he won't make management smart. Our puppet GM is a god damn condo salesman. Our real GM is a meh D2 player with no real connections outside of his shady posse of Argentinian agents. Fix that, win some games and then maybe, MAYBE, the people that should be your target customers will pay a premium for your tickets... if they can afford it.

Actually the 10 game packs cost less than individual tickets last year

They're probably still trying to recoup the costs of bringing Drogba here.

They seem to think they'll fill up the Stade with boomers and yuppies... I'm not sure how well that'll work out, but if it does, the place will become the same funeral gathering as a habs game.

Anectdote: I was at a IMFC game and I had a couple of boomers in front of me and 2 young brothers (10 and 16 maybe) sitting besides them, but werent with them, they seemed to be alone. For the whole game the boomers were looking at their phones never cheering, in their little zombie boomer bubble. The 2 kids were really enjoying themselves, jumping up, waving their scarves making noise and singing and really into it. At one point the boomer sitting beside the kids got really pissed, grabbed one of the kids scarves and looked like he was gona slap one. My wife brought it to my attention, and I got in the guys face and told the guy to calm the f*** down, that we were all there to enjoy the game, and that those kids are what coming to a soccer game is all about. The loser just sat down and shut up.
I dont want those people at the Stade, they ruin everything for everyone.

I think they saw last year's crowds were great for such a terrible season and horrible product on the field. They're probably banging on the probable chance that the team will do better this year.

Which is still pretty stupid. Did they analyse WHO attended the games? It is certainly not the people that could afford their new prices. You see a lot of families, lot of teens, many immigrants. You do not see a lot of middle-aged well-off white men/women.

Only the EPL and some VERY HIGH profile teams get away with high prices.

I went to see Munich at the Allianz Arena last September. I paid 45 euros a ticket in the middle bowl.

Impact charges about the same if not more for an equivalent seat. Yet we don’t have Lewandowski, James, Robben, Ribery, Vidal, Neueur, Coman, etc

It is stupid
