That he gets better against better competition with pressure on says a lot.
Or the playoffs are just a small sample size and his good play is random variation.

With 0 powerplay time, and he leads the team in +/-. I hope you're right and we can still get a good deal out of him.Not bashing KK but I think some people may be getting a little carried away at this point in time. He is on pace for around 13 goals and 42 points this season. If we approached his agent today its not like we missed out on signing a 40 goal guy.
Well I wouldn't say 0 PP time because I know 1 of his 4 goals were on the PP. I just don't think a guy on pace for 13 goals has nearly as much leverage as some people as of today. Now if he scores 25 at the end of the season then his agent comes in with much more leverage. With 0 powerplay time, and he leads the team in +/-. I hope you're right and we can still get a good deal out of him.
Kakko's getting some PP time, sometimes up to 3mins in a game. He's averaging a shade over 1min of PP time per game so far this season. There is a spattering of some 20-40sec PP ice time games. Very few nights where he's actually getting no PP time. With 0 powerplay time, and he leads the team in +/-. I hope you're right and we can still get a good deal out of him.
We just never learn do weAccording to Freidge, $85MM in bonuses, Full NMC
Translation — unmovable contract forever
Machinehead once said that hockey is a collection of random events.Or the playoffs are just a small sample size and his good play is random variation.
Dumb takeThis org just loves to kneecap themselves.
What is the rationale for Igor getting paid 48% more than Saros? A few playoff series? Just absurd.
If he lets in >3 goals in a playoff game ever again it’s a bad contract.
It's pretty much an albatross any way you cut it.
Let's just hope for a couple of cap rises.
The Rangers lose because the D is not good enough. Build a good and big D group in front of Igor. The Rangers will win. The Rangers aren't winning with two small D making up their top pair of D. The Rangers can't finish out games. The Rangers are up 2-0 to TB in the series and in game 3. The Rangers don't have a checking line. The formula is right there. TB and Vegas. Florida is a rough and tumble group. The Rangers try to do it their way. It's not Igor's fault.Listen I hate this extension and all but I do think it gets lost how f***ing good Igor has been in the playoffs.
He has a 0.68 Goals Saved Above Average/60 from 22-24 in the playoffs. To give you an idea of how insane that is, Hank had a 0.34 from 12-14 in the playoffs. by that stat alone, Igor was twice as good as Hank in the playoffs at his peak.
for another more contemporary comparison, Vasilevskiy, probably considered the most clutch goalie of this generation, from 20-22 had a 0.36 GSAA.
how much % was henrik's 8.5M then compared to % of cap now of igor 11,6
He’s not a free agent so i would assume there were noneI wonder what the competing offers from other teams in the works were.
Not only that, it's pretty much buyout proof. If we decide to buyout the last 3-4 year, (Doesn't matter how many years really) we really save nothing. It's structured to be an absolute disaster if they find themselves needing to move this contract for cap or because Igor's play really slipped.Full NMC. What can go wrong.
At the time of signing it was 13.2, but the contract started at 12.3 because the cap jumped 5 million before it started. Lundqvist also received a full NMC for the duration of his contract. I believe he was around 31 when signing the contract. His contract was a little different as there wasn't as much signing bonus in the final seasons, so the buyout while shitty saved some money.how much % was henrik's 8.5M then compared to % of cap now of igor 11,6
