Not bashing KK but I think some people may be getting a little carried away at this point in time. He is on pace for around 13 goals and 42 points this season. If we approached his agent today its not like we missed out on signing a 40 goal guy.
With 0 powerplay time, and he leads the team in +/-. I hope you're right and we can still get a good deal out of him.

Well I wouldn't say 0 PP time because I know 1 of his 4 goals were on the PP. I just don't think a guy on pace for 13 goals has nearly as much leverage as some people as of today. Now if he scores 25 at the end of the season then his agent comes in with much more leverage.

Kakko's getting some PP time, sometimes up to 3mins in a game. He's averaging a shade over 1min of PP time per game so far this season. There is a spattering of some 20-40sec PP ice time games. Very few nights where he's actually getting no PP time.

how much % was henrik's 8.5M then compared to % of cap now of igor 11,6

Assuming the cap goes to $97M next season with a new CBA being struck, the 20% max is $19,400,000. 1940. EF was discussing certain wanting 20% of the cap. Max NHL cap hit is 20% of the cap. Connor might get it. He should $20M. Draisaitl got $14M. Rantanen wants $14M. The Avs say we have MacKinnon cap.

People say Garand is a quality goalie and a future NHL goalie. Garand will be the backup next season. His waiver exemption will end this summer. One year deal this summer. If Garand is really good. Sign him to an extension in 2027. Try to keep the Igor/Garand tandem in place for as long as possible. Maybe Garand becomes a quality trade asset in the future.

Listen I hate this extension and all but I do think it gets lost how f***ing good Igor has been in the playoffs.

He has a 0.68 Goals Saved Above Average/60 from 22-24 in the playoffs. To give you an idea of how insane that is, Hank had a 0.34 from 12-14 in the playoffs. by that stat alone, Igor was twice as good as Hank in the playoffs at his peak.

for another more contemporary comparison, Vasilevskiy, probably considered the most clutch goalie of this generation, from 20-22 had a 0.36 GSAA.
The Rangers lose because the D is not good enough. Build a good and big D group in front of Igor. The Rangers will win. The Rangers aren't winning with two small D making up their top pair of D. The Rangers can't finish out games. The Rangers are up 2-0 to TB in the series and in game 3. The Rangers don't have a checking line. The formula is right there. TB and Vegas. Florida is a rough and tumble group. The Rangers try to do it their way. It's not Igor's fault.

Ugh, I didn't wake up from some weekend bender where I imaged this...

You get a NMC. You get a NMC. You get a NMC. Oh, not you, you're being traded. You get a NMC.

"I want to be the highest paid player because I am the best on the team." *Makes sure he gets nearly all of the contract guaranteed through singing bonus.

Question for y'all. Are there any rules about trading Igor as a rental this year with him already signed for next year?

I'm sure he'd be pissed, but if we end up punting on this year it'd be a great way to get some (a boat load of?) assets. I know people have come back and signed after being rented out, but I can't think of any examples when they're already signed.

It'd be pretty hilarious.

Full NMC. What can go wrong.
Not only that, it's pretty much buyout proof. If we decide to buyout the last 3-4 year, (Doesn't matter how many years really) we really save nothing. It's structured to be an absolute disaster if they find themselves needing to move this contract for cap or because Igor's play really slipped.

At the time of signing it was 13.2, but the contract started at 12.3 because the cap jumped 5 million before it started. Lundqvist also received a full NMC for the duration of his contract. I believe he was around 31 when signing the contract. His contract was a little different as there wasn't as much signing bonus in the final seasons, so the buyout while shitty saved some money.
