They wouldn’t care because they don’t seem interested in doing what it takes to get themselves a cup.

Think about it like this, you want to be the CEO of your company, you think you’d make better decisions, you’d pay your employees better and you’d make a lot more money.

However, you don’t go to university and become a master of finance, you don’t become a lawyer first, you don’t have any interest in going to night school, or finding a path to get to your ‘goal’ of being the CEO of your company.

Because it’s too much work.

Sure, you ‘care’ about all these things, like getting a better job and making your company a better place to work, but when you look at yourself in the mirro, can you say you really care if you’re not willing to put all the work into it to get there?

That’s the leafs. They care, with a lower case ‘c’. They care the same way we care to win the lottery. They care in a very passive and wishful way.

Sure they’d like to win the cup, but they don’t Care with a capital ‘C’, because winning the cup is hard and you have to do things to get there that these players aren’t willing to do.

You don’t win a Stanley cup playing the way the maple leafs play. If they actually cared, they’d play like Vegas, or Boston, or Tampa, Florida, etc
They were referring to ownership not caring, not the players.

Pretty sure coaches get fired on the road.

If that's the case,. Hopefully, Keefe gets canned on the road to the airport before flying out west.

There you go universe,...Make It Happen!!

If they do fire Keefe, I want them to hire Darryl Sutter. Of course, he will only have a year or two shelf life.

Fire Shanahan. Buy Trotz from Nashville and let him pick his guy.

Coach Q is best one available, but Toronto is after Chicago the place were he would sign.

During the regular season, Defence is not nearly as exciting as wide open pond hockey. I think interest would decline if they were a devil’s
trap team of years gone by, even if they won a Cup in the playoffs.
A decline in interest? In the Leafs market? It would explode if they won a cup!!!

Fair.

I think the issues go beyond just the coaching though, new coach same core, still won't get it done. Just gonna have to wait out the Tavares contract, but I would be actively shopping Marner for a #1D. Don't trade him just to trade him but if an opportunity presents itself, I think we absolutely need to pull the trigger on it.
they can't trade him. NMC

They certainly are not a serious team.

Who would you like then
is there any particular coaches you'd settle for that would make a list to chose from?

Trotz was available twice and we hung on to Babcock and the Keefe too long. I would be fine with Laviolette this offseason. Rest of the guys on this list are just same level as Keefe or barely any better.

This is a flawed team... Good enough to make the playoffs, but then it's a throw of the dice once you get to the playoffs.
This team doesn't have a solid enough roster top to bottom to be the favorite going in. I don't think a new coach elevates them to a much higher level.

I'm not against making a coaching change in the off season ALONG WITH more major roster moves than we've seen in the past If this team doesn't advance... But I wouldn't make a move now.

If in one month from now they start slipping out of a playoff position.... That's a different story. Another

I don’t know how you can say ownership doesn’t care, unless you’re only speaking about firing shanahan

Ownership has spent more money on this team than any other in the league, I’m sure. Hiring and Firing Babcock alone was insane if they didn’t care about winning, due to the cost to ownership.

I'm not saying ownership doesn't care, I was responding to someone who was saying that.

Rikard Gronborg, coaching Tappara at the moment but he is modern and old at the same time. Players coach thats not afraid to show emotions.

would be more interesting to watch then now at least.
