Only GO Transit for me.The Greyhound angle is becoming bizarre.
He'll give you one billion dollars if you do so.I’d kill for Belfour right now
How far would you go for a billion dollars?I’d kill for Belfour right now
Sigh. He already gave away the billion, it's a hypothetical now. He'll give you one billion dollars if you do so.
Even if Murray doesn't work out (which tbf, I fully expect to be the case), it most certainly won't cost a 1st to move out 1 year at ~3-4M.If Dubas trades for Murray we all know we'll be here in another year trading away another first for yet another mistake.
How many lives does Dubas have? Unbelievable that this is even a conversation.
Why would trading for Murray guarantee he'd be here a year from now?If Dubas trades for Murray we all know we'll be here in another year trading away another first for yet another mistake.

I hate this place
Should be able to sign Samsonov to short term. In this goalie market that's a pretty big plus.![]()
Net Worth: Why The Capitals Elected Not To Qualify Samsonov
With just one goaltender remaining on the NHL roster ahead of free agency, the Washington Capitals made a shocking decision. They chose not to qualify goaltender Ilya Samsonov, meaning the Russian will hit free agency on Wednesday. General manager Brian MacLellan said Wednesday that he had...washingtonhockeynow.com
Per the Capitals, the decision was a financial one. Samsonov had arbitration rights, and the team projected that his next deal would come in the $3-3.5 million AAV range following a one-year, $2 million bridge deal for 2021-22. In Washington’s eyes, it was too expensive for a backup, and too expensive given his performance. The team also relayed that it wanted to go in a different direction.
Samsonov hasn’t developed the way the team has hoped. The 25-year-old has shown flashes of great potential and upside and even steal games but has not been able to maintain consistency. At times, he had trouble with puck control, rebound control and holding onto the stick, while letting in soft goals.
This past season, Samsonov went 23-12-5 with a .896 save percentage and 3.02 GAA through 44 games. In Game 2 of the opening round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, he relieved Vanecek as the starter and had a decent showing with a cumulative .912 SV% in five games against the Florida Panthers.
Maybe we should pass
No matter what his agent wants, the market is a buyers market this yearShould be able to sign Samsonov to short term. In this goalie market that's a pretty big plus.
His agent may have other ideas though.
He's a UFA ya
If we could get Samsonov too I'd feel more confident.
To be clear, you are in a rage because we are entering free agency season with lots of capspace and a clean goaltending slate?
Should have traded and signed the AHL level Georgiev, right?

This aged oh so well.
I've never mentioned Gerogiev once before but he's probably as good an option as Murray is for $4.6 !
