Last shooter were a Swede to be honest. (According to Finnish newspapers) And it was a richocet, but still.. Should not be shooting that direction. And it was the only one hitting him?Wow, that’s a bad look for the Czech team. Every player who shot a puck should get a game off.
I agree, hard to blame the players although they should have seen him, but the rink staff should be off the ice before players are allowed on and the people on the ice should be wearing a helmet. Safety needs to be stepped up and they are lucky this kid didn't get hurt. That was weird.. Brutal for players to be shooting the pucks(they obviously didnt notice him i am assuming) but why was he still on the ice at that point? Someone shoulda been there to stop the players from stepping foot on the ice until this guy was done doing his thing.
I know when growing up playing minor hockey and still to the day when playing drop in hockey we cant step foot on the ice till zamboni person or whoever is off the ice. And this happens at a world class event?
So weird
Yes, he absolutely should have to.The kid wasn't even wearing a helmet. Not that he should have to either.
Disagree. Ice crew never have and should never have to. Players shouldn't be out there shooting pucks... INTENTIONALLY at anyone. That's just wrong.Yes, he absolutely should have to.
It is now mandatory around my area for ice crews to wear helmets in some rinks while on the ice and there is no reason not to IMO. A slip and fall could cause serious damage and it's not a big deal to throw a helmet on, it only takes a second. Everyone should always be wearing a helmet out there.Disagree. Whys he out there messing with their warm up?
Pretty sure he was out there before the players.Whys he out there messing with their warm up?
Are you kidding? You are basically saying they never looked at the net before they shot and/or weren't looking where they were shooting. There doesn't have to be intention. Its common freaking sense to not shoot a puck at people. Especially ones without helmets. It is now mandatory around my area for ice crews to wear helmets in some rinks while on the ice and there is no reason not to IMO. As far as saying these kids intentionally shot pucks at this kid.. well I just don't believe they did and there is no proof it was intentional. But, another reason he should have had a helmet on as pucks are always flying and ricocheting off of the glass (just like the last one which could have hit him in the face)
That's exactly what I am saying and I don't think it's that ridiculous that players could shoot pucks in the direction of the net without looking. You are basically saying they never looked at the net before they shot and/or weren't looking where they were shooting.
No it's not, it's more like driving balls at a driving range without looking out into the field and seeing the kid fixing a flag 250 yards out. That's like saying I can go hit golf balls in my yard at peoples houses and say I wasn't intentionally aiming at the neighbors or their house / cars / children
So you think they just skate out there, don't look up at all, don't look at the net, don't see who is around and just start shooting pucks like they were blindfolded. That's one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. That's exactly what I am saying and I don't think it's that ridiculous that players could shoot pucks in the direction of the net without looking.
