Honest question: how big of a sample of solid play do we need to feel comfortable with Campbell as a starter?
5 more great games and we're 110% comfy with him as our starter in the playoffs. Play great in the playoffs and we're comfy with him as our starter next year. Play great next year and he'll be signed to a very nice extension.

Thought we were the better team by quite a bit. We did though give up 4 or 5 point blank chances that the Jets weren't able to score on. Need a cleaner game but not a lot to complain about. We also had 2 posts.

Moral of the story is if we get equal goaltending we beat them most of the time. Even with our trash PP.

I don't think he stole the game. Play was pretty even at 5 on 5 but the leafs had more high quality chances near the net.

Campbell was solid, but our inability to finish gave the Jets a point

Leafs gave up multiple two on ones and sloppy giveaways that lead to good chances.

I suggest that Campbell earned the two points.

Jets showed up with their A game, Leafs hobbled into the arena and did the bare minimum. Their minimum should be good enough most nights in the North with solid goaltending and tonight delivered.

We had a slight edge, but it honestly could have gone either way. The reason it went our way is Jack Campbell.

Seriously Spezza has been pretty damn good since he became a Leaf. I hope the Leafs keep him for as long as he wants to keep playing and can play effectively because his skills are still there.

As for Campbell he's doing what Andersen hasn't been able to do consistently ever as a Leaf. Make clutch saves to keep the Leafs in a game and also be able to win a shootout. If Campbell keeps playing like this and can stay healthy then the Leafs need to make him number one and ride him all the way. No way Andersen should come back and be the number one again unless Campbell can't get the job done.
Id say Soup has earned the privilege of putting up about 6 shitty games before we look to switch him off the #1 position.

They play old school. They throw so much physical abuse and wear and tear in a playoff series that by Game 6 and 7, the skills advantages an opponent may have will be canceled out.

Conversely I doubt our PP will be 100% non effective in the playoffs.

The Jets likely remakn main playoff threat for the Leafs in the post season

The good news about our PP is that it cannot remain this bad for so long. Much like our goaltending, it will bounce back. My god it's bad right now though, complete clock killer. Just need a Matthews ripper to get the monkey off their backs and they'll settle down. I'll celebrate the day they stop that f***ing drop pass though.

Campbells game is so technically sound. I love goalies like him. It's like he's never swimming around or out of position. The stickhandling has been a little adventurous, but maybe he just needs more games to fix that.

That was probably the most playoff-like game of the season so far. Super entertaining.

Campbell is just everything right now. Great to see a win in a goalie battle against the reigning Vezina winner.

Spezza's shootout move was super sneaky, and Campbell was great in that as well. Love it. Hard to remember the last time we won one of those...
