I’m done with # 47 on our team !!

Who won ?
Who lost ?
Who competes for the cup more often than not ?
Which team hasn’t gone past the first round in 16 years ?
Which team hasn’t won the cup in a bunch of years ?
I’m tired of mental gymnastics and word play and projections and could’ve and should’ve
I believe in our talent at the top and warriors like Hyman and our additions we made like Joe and Train and on Defense , but enough already in defending some of our meek and mild non combative losers , let’s continue to search for winners and warriors in all our positions
Robertson is one I can’t wait for

Both those superior veteran teams managed to eke out razor thin wins against our young lower ranked teams.

Quite proud of what our young leafs did those series.

Especially given our coach's love of players like hunwick and Marleau.

Zeke my combative friend , who loves ya
Your mistaking my passion for a winner with not thinking that I’m not proud of our team , I am man , I’ve been proud for 55+ years brotha , believe me that's being proud of our team ..
My children’s names reflect names of Great leaf legends ...
My ink on my body reflects My pride for our Leafs
My Leaf room can compete with any leaf room anywhere ...
No ones saying that I’m not proud or we aren’t
But brotha brotha
At my age , I want results , and competitive teams than win in the playoffs year in and year out , proud mentally tough players that battle with everything they have and claw and bleed to win each and every time out ...
I’ll grant you every moral victory from my beautiful sunny Bc shore to Carlton street , have at her Hoss
I’m into winning , real W’s playoff success
I have no doubt that our top end players are as good if not better than theirs ..
It’s the rest of the gang where we get beat ...
Go Leafs Go

Lololol that’s awesome

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long years
Stole million man's soul an faith
And I was 'round when Jesus Christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that Pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

Stuck around after St. Croix
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed by Gerry McNamara and his minions.
Leaf fan nation screamed in vain
I saw the team tank
While Ferguson held a general's rank
When Tukku Rask was all the rage
Andrew Raycroft stank.
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
With players like Kris and Derek King,
Have lost for several decades
For the mistakes they made
I shouted out
Who carried the Leafs since Ted Kennedy?
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
Burns had them trap to the Quarterfinals
Who get Kerry Frasered before they reached the Finals

Last year's CBJ series:

Hyman-Matthews-Marner: 59.4xgf%
Tavares-Matthews-Marner: 63.9xgf%
Hyman-Matthews-Nylander: 27.6xgf%

Mikheyev-Tavares-Nylander: 61.6xgf%
Mikheyev-Tavares-Marner: 73.0xgf%
Hyman-Nylander-Kapanen: 36.5xgf%
Robertson-Tavares-Nylander: 23.7xgf%

Robertson-Kerfoot-Kapanen: 44.7xgf%
Robertson-Kerfoot-Mikheyev: 30.8xgf%
Johnsson-Kerfoot-Mikheyev: 94.7xgf%

Clifford-Engvall-Spezza 79.6xgf%
Clifford-Gauthier-Spezza 00.0xgf%

All in all I think Keefe probably panicked.

The superline was unnecessary and wasn't a substantial upgrade over the Hyman-Matthews-Marner line, meanwhile it blew up a very good 2nd line.

The other problem is that young Robertson didn't belong in the NHL yet - he brought down every line he played on, and they all did well without him. Not a shocker for an 18yr old that had never played an NHL game.

Choosing Gauthier over Engvall in game 1 was an obvious bad call from the start, and not surprising the 4th line was great once Engvall was plugged in there.

To be honest though Engvall should probably have been up on that 3rd line instead of Robertson. 3rd line would have likely been much more effective with him there.

Keefe should have gone with the lines he's finally getting to now:

Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Kerfoot-Tavares-Nylander
Mikheyev-Engvall-Kapanen
Clifford-Brooks/Malgin-Spezza

No comment lol
I’m hiring you to be my stats guru if I ever run a team again, then I’ll go with my gut feeling lol

Engvall isn't a problem for the 3rd. /4th. line.

Doesn't make much.

Learning the center ice position.

My expectation is that there are always going to be depth players.

He looks like a support player, perhaps he just needs to have better leading men in his life.

I’ll continue to set high bars from all our players top to bottom , highest paid to lowest , 1st line to 4th

Hits per 60min (min 100min)

1. Simmonds 10.3
2. Hyman 6.9
3. Engvall 6.5
4. Vesey 4.4
5. Spezza 4.4
6. Mikheyev 4.1
7. Matthews 4.0
8. Tavares 3.7
9. Kerfoot 2.2
10. Boyd 2.1
11. Nylander 1.5
12. Marner 1.2
13. Thornton 1.0

This is an interesting list, I wasn't aware that Eng threw that many hits.

I like Eng, I think he's a superior 4th liner and a decent injury replacement player, offense isn't his forte, being physical, well it looks like he's more physical than most of TO's forwards with a lot less icetime. I'm surprised with these numbers, I thought AM was the the forward with the most hits on TO.

What really surprises me is that Vesey, Mikhey, Kerfoot and Boyd have even that many hits.

I like what Eng brings to TO's bottom 6 and I'm really excited to see the Hy/Mikhey/Eng line reunited, defense and possession should be what they together can offer which is far better than TO's 3rd or 4th lines offered for the last 5 years.

Engvall has been pretty good on the checking line tonight with Hyman and Mikheyev. Using his speed, reach and puck ragging abilities to check and disrupt but no real need for displays of grit grinding heart and soul hockey.

Pretty good?

Try great.

Absolutely owning Draisaitl out there.

The thing about Engvall is that we could likely get a player who brings what he does for 500k less. He needs to consistently play the way he did tonight (against Edmonton) or else he will be shipped out at the deadline.

Thought he played well today.

Not many guys can handle 3C for league minimum.

Engvall is 6’5 and has pretty good skating ability with a bit of offence. Could he improve on his offence? Yes.

he makes 1.25 mill. You say we could get a player for 500k less? So league minimum. Who are you suggesting?

id prefer to keep the guy, personally

That 3rd line was amazing to watch. Speed for days. Good size and good cycling and shutting do the top producers in the league.
The real question is can we split that line up when Matthews gets back?

I’m done with # 47 on our team !! ........
I’ve been contemplating, creating a thread on this player since our 3-0 loss to the F-lames ..but upon re watching that game and his play last year and this year and then that fatal game and his pathetic play in that outing was too much for me ..
I’ve been watching our team for over 55 plus years and the great game of hockey and other sports ..
Throughout those years many players have come through our team that were let’s just say less than capable to wear our beloved Leaf on their chest , and we all can make a list of 50 or more ..
But rarely if ever have I witnessed a more pathetic , chicken crap , mouse like , scared , piece of shhhh than this player , he has the size and speed to play like a man or woman out there and and he continues to reach in to corners and give up pucks in battles , not able to receive passes , can’t make a good pass and basically skate around like a pickup game at 4 am at the Forest Hill arena with your drunk friends ...
I’m so pissed off at him for the scared dear in the head lights play of his , he’s pathetic and is not worthy of pulling on our honourable great Leaf jersey ...
Get him the hell out of here ...
Bring it on ...
But if you do , you better make sure you’ve watched his play in that 3-0 loss to the F-lames first and most of his other games since he’s played with us ....

He's less pathetic than this old man rant...and who is this "our Leaf jersey", you're just a fan, you have nothing to do with that sweater in anyway remotely as meaningful as anyone whose even played a single game for them.
