Well lucky for us that I’m pretty sure , and hoping that he doesn’t last to finish the year with us , cuz if he does and we have him in the playoffs when we play against real bottom six hockey players , we will once again be on the outside looking in .

He's also only got 60 games under his belt of NHL experience .. As he grows in the NHL it will be interested to see how he can play.

If he was a player that needed to work on some skills and postering and positioning and more , I’m totally understanding your point , but I am a firm believer that you can’t teach mental toughness and the ability to put everything g on the line to win championships and lay it all out for your teammates at all costs

I’ve been contemplating, creating a thread on this player since our 3-0 loss to the F-lames ..but upon re watching that game and his play last year and this year and then that fatal game and his pathetic play in that outing was too much for me ..
I’ve been watching our team for over 55 plus years and the great game of hockey and other sports ..
Throughout those years many players have come through our team that were let’s just say less than capable to wear our beloved Leaf on their chest , and we all can make a list of 50 or more ..
But rarely if ever have I witnessed a more pathetic , chicken crap , mouse like , scared , piece of shhhh than this player , he has the size and speed to play like a man or woman out there and and he continues to reach in to corners and give up pucks in battles , not able to receive passes , can’t make a good pass and basically skate around like a pickup game at 4 am at the Forest Hill arena with your drunk friends ...
I’m so pissed off at him for the scared dear in the head lights play of his , he’s pathetic and is not worthy of pulling on our honourable great Leaf jersey ...
Get him the hell out of here ...
Bring it on ...
But if you do , you better make sure you’ve watched his play in that 3-0 loss to the F-lames first and most of his other games since he’s played with us ....

Let’s all be real here ...
The vast majority of us fans here and across Leafs Nation are extremely knowledgeable in the game of hockey and sports in general .
Also these awesome fans have gone through a lot and that’s putting it very very mildly.
For those of us that have bled Blue and white for 30 , 40 , 50 and even more years know the real deal and these are the fans that I’m relating to ..
We are all tired of losing , I know I am , We are all tired of moral victories and hearing maybe next year and so much more crap ..
I don’t have aspirations of our team always winning cups , that’s not realistic if you are a true fan ..
But what I do expect from our organization
( which by the way I have full confidence in the current leadership ) and love our higher end talent .
What I do expect from our Leafs is that we contend every year for the cup and challenge deep into the playoffs consistently..
I hate teams like the bruins and capitals and bolts , but I do respect their ability and desire to be the best they can be and their sheer fight in their players to battle each shift game in and game out . They don’t win every game , but in the playoffs they compete hard , one of the areas where they overwhelm us lately is in their work ethic up and down their lineups
And that they draft and dress battlers and warriors ..
We will get there I know and I believe in it ...
But when some of us and thankfully it’s the minority of us fans are ok with lacklustre performances and ok with mediocrity and say things like “ what do we expect from our bottom six “ that’s when we get what we get and deserve
Well I for one have had it with this malaise and low expectations...
I know and have confidence in the vast majority of us real true fans that understand this ..

Again I’m sorry but I totally disagree , again I’m not talking about production , I’m talking about dedication to your craft and team and organization to give everything you have in you to achieve greatness weather your making 1 mil or 100 mil , other great teams in any sport expect that from each and every player
I think it’s a cop out to minimize that effort and mental toughness correlates to the money your earn

Neither the Bruins nor the Capitals "overwhelmed" our young leafs in the playoffs, despite a proven talent advantage.

In fact, the leafs performed better in those series than the regular season records would have indicated.

Agreed. Engvall doesnt compete hard. Last year at times, he looked promising. Great skater and using his reach to break up passing lanes. He looks passive, just cashing in the cheque, doesnt seem to have any pride to his game.

Who won ?
Who lost ?
Who competes for the cup more often than not ?
Which team hasn’t gone past the first round in 16 years ?
Which team hasn’t won the cup in a bunch of years ?
I’m tired of mental gymnastics and word play and projections and could’ve and should’ve
I believe in our talent at the top and warriors like Hyman and our additions we made like Joe and Train and on Defense , but enough already in defending some of our meek and mild non combative losers , let’s continue to search for winners and warriors in all our positions
Robertson is one I can’t wait for

What's bizarre is claiming he's "soft", based on absolutely nothing, and having an entire thread rant against an effective bottom-six player, for no reason.
