I’m done with # 47 on our team !!

I had no idea who 47 was until I opened the thread. He’s ok for a bottom line player but also wouldn’t be missed.

I’ve been contemplating, creating a thread on this player since our 3-0 loss to the F-lames ..but upon re watching that game and his play last year and this year and then that fatal game and his pathetic play in that outing was too much for me ..
I’ve been watching our team for over 55 plus years and the great game of hockey and other sports ..
Throughout those years many players have come through our team that were let’s just say less than capable to wear our beloved Leaf on their chest , and we all can make a list of 50 or more ..
But rarely if ever have I witnessed a more pathetic , chicken crap , mouse like , scared , piece of shhhh than this player , he has the size and speed to play like a man or woman out there and and he continues to reach in to corners and give up pucks in battles , not able to receive passes , can’t make a good pass and basically skate around like a pickup game at 4 am at the Forest Hill arena with your drunk friends ...
I’m so pissed off at him for the scared dear in the head lights play of his , he’s pathetic and is not worthy of pulling on our honourable great Leaf jersey ...
Get him the hell out of here ...
Bring it on ...
But if you do , you better make sure you’ve watched his play in that 3-0 loss to the F-lames first and most of his other games since he’s played with us ....

Gauthier is gone because he made a decision not to play like a man. Don’t worry, management see’s what he is. They will dump him if they chance presents itself. You are right. He’s a useless place holder defensively. Soft as butter. Been there,done that,got the T-shirt. Hopefully he’s gone shortly and replaced with a character player.

Not the player who should get your panties in a twist considering he's a taxi squad player when everyone is healthy. It's an odd choice to be pointing fingers at Engvall, a guy playing 8 minutes a night, vs say, our captain making $11 million a year.

Not odd at all. He’s the type of bottom 6 player we should not tolerate in the lineup if we value being hard to play against and competitive

Engvall is noy a liability on the ice, right there I'm happy for a 4th line replacement level player.
Seems to move the puck from the D zone to the O zone with regularity, I'm really smiling now
Cycles well and wears out the other lines, seems like a bonus.
He's not a thug, but he he is good for us.
We could do a lot worse at this level of a player.
Imagine Fraser or Orr on this team in that spot :help:

Easy answer is physical play and heart. This clown doesn’t go to any dirty areas. Anderson and Robertson are both better.

Crazy talk. The Engvall-centerrd 3rd line has been a dominant territorial line all over the ice.

Only thing wrong is that they've been snakebit offensivelyrics, though creating oodles of chances.

Yes I see that and cannot defend that as he doesn't lay the body much.
I'm just saying he can play the game and at the spot he's in, replacement level, I'm good with what he brings.
Now if he somehow decided to throw his weight around, I would be even happier.

One thing I've noted is that players are all so fast, shifty and ice savvy that there are hardly any open ice hits any more and even along the boards it doesn't seem as rough, in general, as maybe 10+ years ago

I get mad when i have cowardice on my team more. I don’t get mad when we are winning and I definitely don’t count salary cap as a means evaluation a player in a rough patch. Continued rough patch and it’s concerning. Complaining about a Tavares is funny too. Suck it up butter cup. He has a full NMC :)
You seriously want to have the board filled with that crap when there is no out have at it. I will gladly avoid it and feel vindicated when he gets going again. He will get going. If he doesn’t there is nothing to complain about with no out. Only something to complain about. Focus on being the best team in the Nhl right now is cool. I’m enjoying it. Try it some time

Doesn’t add offense(secondary scoring either) physical players force players out of position in the offensive zone. That player is never goung to be Engvall and I don’t like that scenario. Not personal against Engvall. I just don’t like him :)

Yeah He's not great but when I think of weak spots, while I do think of him, I think of Vesey, Barabanov WELL before Engvall

Comparing one hit per game players to one hit per game players works out to the same thing. All wrecking balls are not created equally Son. Thanks for re enforcing my contention that we still aren’t a physical enough team.

I'd prefer giving ice time to Adam Brooks than Engvall.
